AMAZON IS KILLING IT WITH CURATING PRETTY THINGS
There’s no denying that AMAZON has completely changed the shop-from-home game. You can have pretty much anything delivered to your doorstep within a matter of hours (things are especially sweet if you’re a PRIME MEMBER).

Amazon is genius if you know what you want, but a little bit of a nightmare if you don’t… their massive product selection is daunting to say the least. Recently encountered this when I was gift shopping… and that’s when I finally clicked on the NEW & INTERESTING FINDS banner I had been ignoring for months.

GREETINGS FROM THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSEWARES SHOW
Hi guys! Just a quick note to say, Hello from Chi-town! I’ve been at the INTERNATIONAL HOME & HOUSEWARES SHOW all weekend, and today is the last day. It’s SO big. And there are SO many retailers here, all displaying their wares that you’ll see in stores soon. Make sure you’re following my INSTAGRAM STORIES to stay up to date on everything I’m seeing at the show— so many cool products!

PINCH ME! GREEN TECH FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY
I’ve never been big on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day… there’s no catholic or Irish in my blood, so it always seemed a little off limits, even though like many holidays it’s become just as much about iconic imagery as it is about anything religious (Shamrock Shake, anyone?). Lately however, it’s charm is winning me over— I just learned why you get pinched on St. Patrick’s Day, and it’s adorable! Sorry I’m a bit late to the game: Did you know that revelers thought that wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, so these creatures would pinch anyone they could see (not wearing green). I mean, how cute is that? I’m sold.

THE INTELLIGENT HOME
When talking about your home in the past, “smart” likely referred to something you operated remotely from your phone. You probably had to download an app, regularly monitor the device, and basically help it function. So, really, you were the smart one, and your smart home devices just followed orders.

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST GADGETS IN MY KITCHEN RIGHT NOW
Well I have just been cooking up a STORM in my kitchen lately, and I have no idea what’s gotten into me! I wanna say it’s all the cool new toys that have come my way for testing and writing projects (thank you, friend at the INTERNATIONAL HOUSEWARES SHOW!), but I think it’s just that I was really ready to give my diet a reboot this year, and I’m experimenting with all kinds of cleaner, healthier alternatives to my favorite foods. For instance, the homemade nut milks I’ve been whipping up in my Vitamix have made for some killer (and frothy!) matcha lattes. My new sous vide tool makes a killer steak, but it also makes perfect-every-time poached eggs. Here are the best kitchen gadgets I’ve got in my kitchen right now— a few pricey, but most affordable, and ALL worth the expense: Many of these are a weekly, and some daily presence on my kitchen counter.

HOW TO MAKE OFFLINE PLAYLISTS IN SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC, AND TIDAL
There are so many benefits to using streaming music apps rather than downloading music onto your phone.
Namely, there’s a seemingly infinite library of songs at your fingertips at all times and it doesn’t take up any storage space (you need that for all of your apps!) at all.

BRIGHT IDEA: GE’S HIGH DEFINITION LED LIGHTBULBS
If you’re looking for energy efficiency and a longer bulb lifespan, LED lightbulbs are the way to go. However, if you’re sensitive to light color quality, the blue-ish tint of early LEDs may have been enough to turn you off for good. Incandescents weren’t particularly energy efficient, but we all have come to love that soft, warm light that they throw.

AMAZON’S APP HAS X-RAY VISION (AND NOT IN A CREEPY WAY)
If you’ve ever ordered a bunch of stuff from AMAZON and come home to a pile of boxes on the front porch (a common occurrence in my household), there’s something you should know about the retailer’s app: It can see inside your boxes so you know exactly what you’re about to unwrap.

7 EASY WAYS TO DISCONNECT ON NATIONAL UNPLUGGING DAY
I’ve been thinking (and writing) a lot about about health and wellness as it relates to technology. While technology can make our lives 10x easier, THE WAY WE USE IT can also cause a great deal of stress. But, the idea of completely unplugging in a hyperconnected world can be daunting, and sometimes unrealistic. How are we going to work or get in touch with our kids, our parents, our friends, or EVEN OUR DOGS?!

3 PET TECH PRODUCTS I’M ROLLING OVER FOR
If you’re a pet owner, you know that a pet isn’t just a pet— they’re part of your family. You likely have a framed photo of your pet somewhere in your house. If you could set a place for your pet at the dinner table, you probably would (and I have it on good authority that some of you do).
