if there is something that would make your life better, would you take it?
Carl E McClellan, AKA Mr. TieDye, stands out as an artist with his beautiful tie-dye creations. He started twisting tees and splashing dye in August 2000 and quickly realized the unlimited potential of the tie-dye medium. Carl experimented with many techniques of tie-dye as he explored its history. Now, along with his peers, he is boldly contributing to the future of this dynamic new face now emerging in the World of Art ~ Tie-Dye!
Carl's passion for creating with tie-dye is contagious, and he passes it on as an Artist In Residence and the Guest of Honor at countless Tie-Dye
'Home Parties'. He has spread the joy of this hands-on experience to thousands of children and adults, earning him 'Rock Star' status in many Oregon Schools. In 2010 he was invited by WCPI, a leadership group, to speak and teach his art to students in Marty, South Dakota, St. George, Utah, and Warm Springs, Oregon.
Carl’s inspired vision, precise technique and love of the chaotic nature of liquid color enable him to embrace the randomness that gives life to his ever-growing and amazing body of work. Devoted followers from around the globe proudly wear and display his art. Several of his most recent tapestries have been shown at the Splendorporium Gallery in Portland, OR. His art may be viewed at www.mrtiedye.com.
