I'm a multimedia journalist, PCLI board member, frequent smartphone journalism speaker, Dad and geneaology buff.
I'm an experienced multimedia freelance journalist and media consultant.
From 2010 to November 2014, I was the online local news editor at Newsday, leading a team with a passion and commitment to smartphone journalism and special projects.
Before Newsday, I was executive producer of News 12 Interactive, running the Web and interactive TV operations of the seven News 12 cable stations. I also launched and ran a hyperlocal initiative covering towns on Long Island and New Jersey called News 12 My Town.
I was previously editor of Long Island Business News and an Internet reporter for Marketwatch.com. I was also a community news and business reporter.
I am a current board member and past president of the Press Club of Long Island, a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. From 2012-2014, I was a national SPJ board member.
I’m currently chairman of the Martin Buskin Committee for Campus Journalism at Stony Brook, and I’m a member of the Energeia Partnership, a regional stewardship group.
