We often recommend reminiscing with our clients and their families; even encouraging them to consider recording parents telling stories. We look for the benefit of a person being remembered and treasured in legacy. It's wonderful to know that this has also been found to have therapeutic value.

Tag! You're it! Your parents want you to have their stuff. What do you do?
Remember, there are two sides to these situations: the perspective of the giver and that of the receiver. In fact, there may be bystanders who feel slighted by the gift for one reason or another. This can be more than just stressful. It can cause genuine rifts in relationships that last a lifetime. So how do you deal with the situation? Consider the handful of tips here.

As the holiday season draws near, an often forgotten community could use a little remembrance. Check your local community for programs like "Stockings for Seniors" or "Mrs. Clause for a Cause" and consider making a donation. Simple things can make a world of difference for someone who may feel alone or forgotten during the holidays. Read our blog for ideas of what makes a great holiday gift for an elder you might know.

Sadly, we see all kinds of bad behavior in this line of work. This is one reason why CRTS training and certification are so vital. In conjunction with our franchise agreements, our clients are protected by an accountability structure that is unlike any other in this industry.
Additionally, we only use W2 employees who have passed rigorous background screening and have been trained by us. We are fully insured and we help our clients vet any third party partners required for their projects. We even provide supervision of third parties on our clients' behalf!
Caring Transitions takes this kind of concern most seriously, and we see ourselves as advocates and partners with our clients.

I have provided services to "elder orphans". They can be quite sad and depressed. Just giving them the help they need with understanding and compassion can bring light where it is desperately needed.
