Mary Jane Seacole was a Jamaican-born woman who set up a hospital behind the lines during the Crimean War, providing care for wounded servicemen on the battlefield.
:white_check_mark: She treated patients in the cholera epidemic of 1850, which killed some 32,000 Jamaicans.
:white_check_mark: She was posthumously awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit in 1991. :white_check_mark: She was voted the Greatest Black Briton in 2004.
:white_check_mark: A statue was erected in her honour at St Thomas' Hospital, London on 30 June 2016.

Fanny Eaton (June 23, 1835 – March 4, 1924) was a Jamaican-born woman. She appeared as a model in many Pre-Raphaelite drawings and paintings from 1859-1867. Her public debut was in Simeon Solomon's The Mother of Moses. She was also featured in works by William Michael Rossetti, John Everett Millais, Joanna Bryce Wells, Rebecca Solomon, and others.
