A love letter to our national parks...
“There can be nothing in the world more beautiful than the Yosemite, the groves of the giant sequoias and redwoods, the Canyon of the Colorado, the Canyon of the Yellowstone, the Three Tetons; and our people should see to it that they are preserved for their children and their children's children forever, with their majestic beauty all unmarred."

“If people don’t know about a place and if people don’t learn to care about and love it, then it’s gone.”

When Ken Brower traveled down the Yampa River in 1952 it was much more than a river trip—it ignited a campaign to stop two big dams on the Green River from flooding Yampa Canyon in the heart of Dinosaur National Monument.

Our latest film, "62 Years," by Logan Bockrath and in partnership with American Rivers, is all at once the story of a father and son, a tribute to preeminent conservationist David Brower and the dawn of the modern environmental movement. It's also a call to action to confront the looming water crisis in the American West. Watch the film and take action at http://www.62YearsFilm.com. #WeAreRivers

You’d never guess that three years ago Seth Davis, +O.A.R.S. Canyonlands Rafting Assistant Manager, lost his left leg in a hunting accident. That’s because Seth, who’s been with the company since 2008, hasn’t skipped a beat (or a season, for that matter). I got to chat with him recently to find out what led him into rafting, how the river helped him heal, and what “normal” looks like these days.

Seriously... “If we cannot muster the resources and the resolve to preserve this, perhaps our greatest natural treasure, what, if anything, are we willing to protect?” ~Kevin Fedarko

Gotta love all the cool little towns and adventure to be had in Gold Country...
The little town of Coloma, California is THE epicenter for American River rafting trips. But there's a heck of a lot more to do in the area than raft. Here's how to extend your trip:  http://bit.ly/1mVd9CD
