Nicky S: ROCHESTER NY RUN!This was the worst experience of my life. In a long story short.... I was approved for a loan through road loans. I don't have the greatest credit and with a recent car fire, I wasn't planning on buying a car and in the process of fixing my credit. Anyway, when I got the loan approval, car max called ME! and asked me to come down and look at a car. Road loans said that Car Max is their number one dealer and that the deal was legit. I was excited, raced down there and found a car I wanted. after a very long contract typical dealer process, I got in the car with my license plates on it and the temporary registration in the window. I was ready to go and was only waiting on the key. After about 15 minutes I went back inside to see what was the situation and the manager was over with another guy and in front of an entire showroom of people tells me that "they got a call, and car max cant do business with me". Never in my life have I ever been so embarrassed and treated with disrespect. He then told me that they couldn't explain to me why and I had to call corporate. So I called them and again in short, they told me that they cant take my business and they have the right not to tell me why. So just to recap, I didn't get the loan through car max, they tried to finance me through their banks even after I told them it wouldn't work and didn't. So I used my own loan company that they supposedly accept. Then they tell me that they don't want my business with no explanation and literally made me sign different paperwork to return the car! It was a done deal and the ripped it away, and treated me like garbage in the process. I normally don't do reviews but this is a situation that all should know about.
Fay Gunn: You're right about the high premiums, but my high quality used car...dude it was a LEMON (engine light wouldn't go off)the first time and the replacement car had a cracked windshield and a week after getting it the rear sun visor had to be replaced. I was up/down the road for over 3 months for repairs messing with CarMax!! And, even though they were accommodating with loaner cars, etc., it simply was NOT worth it!! I was very disappointed in my purchase and will NEVER buy another car from CarMax. Sorry, had to vent :o) LOL!!
Fay Gunn: I purchased a 2006 E-350 Merc-Benz from CarMax (Laurel, MD). It was a LEMON (engine light wouldn't go off and it kept cutting off on me in the MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY)!! That was the first car, the replacement car came from Atlanta, GA and it arrived with a cracked windshield and a week after getting that replaced the rear sun visor had to be replaced. I was up/down the road for over 3 months for repairs messing with CarMax!! And, even though they were very accommodating with loaner cars, etc., it simply was NOT worth the torture and missing work!! I wrote the company President and Services Managers and NEVER received so much as an apology for the Heartship so I was very disappointed with my purchase and will NEVER buy another car from CarMax. My last car payment is tomorrow (11/6/15) and I just received an e-mail from CarMax...they are wasting time trying to get me to buy another car from them!
