A Baltimore landmark since 1978, Captain James Landing Restaurant has earned the name as the "most unique eatery in Baltimore City."

Why are we so "unique?" For starters we are the only restaurant in Baltimore shaped like a merchant vessel! Our Crab House is the one spot in the city where you can eat steamed crab with true waterfront seating. Also our unique water taxi stop (#14) makes us stand out and easy to get to by land or sea.

Four brothers created a restaurant in the 70's with the goal of providing quality service to the citizens of Baltimore- Maryland, as well as the thousands of tourists that visit our Monumental City. Captain James Restaurant is perfect for all occasions and has proven it time and again with over 30 years of history located in the great city of Baltimore!

Really Good! We had Crab Imperial and Captain's Classic Crab Cakes. The crabcakes were big and delicious! Parking next door is convenient. We went at a slower time (between lunch and dinner) and the service was fine.

Was there Tuesday night with my daughter for her 21st birthday. WONDERFUL time, waiter Glen or Gary (feel bad, can't remember) was the best. From the time we walked in that door it was a great experience!! The food was the best, she got the lobster tails and I got the broiled seafood platter. Plated beautifully, each item was better than the other...crab cake was the best!!!! I had a groupon, but I'd go back in there anytime when Im in town. Wish I lived closer, was just there for the day.

Cool atmosphere and good food. Had the crab cake entree which was huge and delicious. It went really well with a ice cold bottle of Oyster Stout. It was a little pricey but the entree was well worth the cost. Good for couples and families -- that mostly like Seafood

Brought guests from another state for our lst time there......Parking just across the street in a lot (nice addition). Dining area - total disappointment. I remember having ordered soup. Would you believe it was out of a can!!! Now, you KNOW we all know canned food. The waitress told us it was freshly made....REALLY! The crab cake was not what one would desire. Needless to say, the entire adventure there was a waste of time since we drove a distance to get there. Perhaps new cooks who care might move things along. I would not venture to bring additional guests there. One star is given for uh, uh, hmmmm....parking or because there is nothing for less than one star. Sorry.

Welcome all, So, my experience at Captain James was... interesting. First off, I am a vegetarian, and on their menu, it lists fabulous selections that sound delicious. That night, we couldn't think of anywhere new and fresh to dine, so, we chose Captain James. As I read the menu, I saw what seemed like a vegetarian friendly lasagna (it didn't identify that soon, I would get a surprise inside). As I ate the delicious entree, I discovered a chew meaty substance... it was meat! I felt sick and bloated (from not eating meet in almost 2 years) I began my course of meat poison. Then, we decided to grab the management to refund and replace my meal... turns out, the only management that was available was the chef!!!!! I was flabbergasted, the chef came out in a timely manner and apologized for the mix up and let me replace my meal with no hesitation. The next entree they arrived with was was some type of fish dinner, it was tasty, but not as good as my first choice. In result, my mood was ruined, the food wasn't as good the next time and I wanted to leave immediately. The positive things: the service was great, we received fresh bread before our meal, and our bill was sent to s in a small lantern to commemorate our meal. Please, don't order the lasagna if you're a vegetarian, like me, and don't be afraid to ask questions about the menu if you're not sure. Price wise, it's not entirely worth it.

All you can eat small, cold, barely edible crabs. Plus: they lure you in with a "happy hour" menus but charge you full price- owner said "signs were put up by mistake" and refused to honor.... Never again!
