This is good news, but I can't help but think about how many others are suffering as a result of wrongful convictions, if these are the ones we know about.

With all the "knockout game" hysteria that was sweeping the nation last month it's interesting that this gentleman is now accused of 7 of those style assaults.

+R. Patrick Link on high crime areas. Patrick is one of the better bloggers here on google plus, he does a great job of including actual first hand documents and photos from his cases he blogs about. It's so much more engaging than the average blog, and I'm going to try to copy him and do this in my own blogs. If you don't know his work yet you should immediately.
Some police officers believe that citizens who live in a "high crime area" do not enjoy the same constitutional rights as their more affluent neighbors. While  the law allows police to factor in the nature of a neighborhood, it does not provide a free pass to police.

There is a huge difference between the probable cause needed to make an arrest and the requirement of proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt...

Although Massachusetts courts are closed statewide today due to snow we will still be open at the office starting at noon.

I like to consider myself pretty up on the latest in criminal activity trends being a criminal defense lawyer and all, but I was completely unaware of the online black market that apparently exists for dead brains.......

New blog post up on a local case where a defendant is seeking the employment records of the police officer that arrested her. The interesting twist is the Officer has been indicted for alleged crimes of his own.
