Von Wong had a grand idea: To recreate the iconic scene of a young Chinese cormorant fisherman hard at work on a bamboo raft. However, in typical Von Wong fashion there was a twist. He wanted to shoot it 30 metres underwater in a Mexican cenote just above a toxic layer of hydrogen sulfide.

The University of Toronto is home to the world’s largest collection of photographs by the late beat poet Allen Ginsberg thanks to a donation by the Larry & Cookie Rossy Family Foundation.
Fisher Librarian John Shoesmith talks about the Allen Ginsberg Photography collection, recently donated to the University of Toronto. At almost 8,000 prints, it is the largest collection of Ginsberg photographic prints in the world. The candid photographs capture the spirit of both the Beat period, as well as chronicle the many friends and acquaintances Ginsberg knew over his rich and storied life.

Congratulations to Toronto photographer Matt Barnes & videographer Mike Rybinski! Their music video for the Sheepdogs' Feeling Good has been nominated for Video of the Year in the 2014 Juno Awards. The nominations were announced Tuesday morning at a news conference in Toronto.
