The solution is evident, yet unlikely. Is this a battle we already lost?

Why we need to keep fossil fuels in the ground ► http://bit.ly/keepitinthegroundyt

We need to reduce emissions to keep our planet safe for future generations - the science is clear. However, it can be quite hard to get your head around how to do that. Here's a very simple idea from writer and climate campaigner, Bill McKibben: keep fossil fuels in the ground. If we were to burn all the fossil fuel reserves we currently know about, experts forecast the Earth's temperature would warm by more than 2C and have catastrophic effects. Guardian journalists explain the 'keep it in the ground' theory in easy to understand terms.

The effect of drugs on spiders. How interesting!

Spiders On Speed And The Webs They Weave
http://adafru.it/dR9

Spider webspinning visibly altered when given different drugs by Meghana Keshavan via medcitynews

Drugs are whack: The intricate patternings of spider webs are completely morphed when they’re high, or so say two studies – one in 1948 and the other in 1995 – that show the stunning differences you’ll find in a spider’s webs when they’ve had caffeine, LSD, speed and a number of other drugs.

Legalising marijuana is not a leap of faith any more. Luckily there are leaders willing to challenge the status quo.

"Legal, well-regulated marijuana has had an overwhelmingly positive change for my state, my community – and yes, my family. That’s not the answer I expected."
We no longer arrest 12,000 people every year for having pot in Washington state.

You think Colombians dance only when they win? You need to watch them when they lose!
Some of us eat our feelings. The Colombian soccer team? They dance. And they dance like everyone's watching. After their World Cup-ending defeat last week at the hands of Brazil, the Colombian soccer team had a combination welcome-home/dance party...

Australian and Canadian puppets - I mean prime ministers - give exactly the same speech to justify the Irak invasion...

Canadian & Australian Prime Ministers Deliver Exact Same Speech (Word For Word)

Uploaded on Oct 7, 2008
In 2003, Stephen Harper and Australian Prime Minister John Howard deliver largely identical speeches urging their nations to join George W. Bush's Coalition of the Willing to go to war with Iraq.
