Happy 4th!
Well, today is the 3rd, I know, but perhaps you have the day off to celebrate in advance of tomorrow, like I do. For the Americans out there, I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on our nation and the freedoms that we share. There are so many opport...

The Barbell Career Strategy
I read across an interesting article over at Inc. recently, which I recommend you read. But, in case you only read my posts, which I appreciate, I'll sum it up. It cites European professor Horatio Falcao's conclusions that the traditional work-life divide l...

Be Nicer, Jerk.
At times, every one of us lets our world become the universe. We think about everything through our filter and assume everyone is exactly like us and reacts exactly the same way as we would. But the truth is that everyone is different. And when we are focus...

Holiday Traffic
Monday was not a holiday. But as I drove into work (and even more pronounced in my work parking lot), it sure seemed like it. Several people have taken off for what may be the entire week. And that, in my opinion, is great for them. My wish for them is to u...

Truly Great Experience
My Friday Morning Meeting Location This past Friday, I had the opportunity to play golf at the Las Colinas Country Club. So I will caveat this story with a few things. First, I am not good at golf. I have, at times, gotten much better at it, but it has been...
This past Friday, I had the opportunity to play golf at the Las Colinas Country Club. So I will caveat this story with a few things. First, I am not good at golf. I have, at times, gotten much better at it, but it has been a few years since I have played with enough consistency to generate any ...

Satisfaction
I listened to an interesting conference call tonight. It was a coaching call on how to be a better coach. But the first part (before we got to the real meat) was about graciousness and thankfulness, and that made me think about what it means to be satisfied...

Seize the Moment
Did you watch any of the U.S. Open on Sunday? It usually winds up on Father's Day, and it has the potential to always be some great finish. This one was no different. Jordan Speith, who also won The Masters this year, finished at five under par, and then ha...

Removing Weeds
Weeds hurt your lawn. If you are looking to cultivate a lush, green lawn, then you have to work hard, whether pre- or post-emergent, to remove and reduce weeds. They suck up water and nutrients that your lawn needs to grow. Weeds grow tall and throw off the...

We got take out, but they were wonderfully nice, had reasonable prices, and great tasting food. Much better than trying to find the same or comparable food for $15+ a person elsewhere. Place seemed empty, but the food is great and I'd encourage stopping in for some.

Gotta say, we were excited to find this as an alternative to Kokila over in Lewisville, especially once Kokila closed. The food here is decent, but the service is horrible. horrible. Horrible. And all we got is take out. We've tried it twice now, and on both occasions, I was told that it was going to be like 30-45 minutes (which is long in my opinion), only to get there and wait alongside other frustrated patrons for an additional 20 minutes with nothing to occupy my time other than my cell phone and a Bollywood movie. Luckily an Indian restaurant has reopened over in Lewisville, so we'll be heading there next time, not going back to Papad'z. Again, the food is decent (if you are eating there prepare for styrofoam plates in addition to your long wait), but only plan on eating there if you don't want to eat in the next hour or two. Oh, and it is small, cramped, and not particularly clean. Good luck.

Have taken our bichons to Pet Spa for 4-5 years now. Randy and the whole crew are great. The dogs are excited to get there and always get a great cut.

It's Scruffy's. Show up early, stay late. And you should go there just because you should go there.
