Usually photographers avoid any sign of lens #flare in their images. We avoid shooting directly into the #sun, or pop on a lens hood to guard against unwanted lens flare. Used creatively however, lens flare can spice up an otherwise ordinary scene. These tips from #SLRLounge should help you feel more comfortable putting some flare in your images - http://bit.ly/2kTB115

Looking for a new place to shoot? Or, maybe you are #traveling somewhere and want to plan locations to photograph. I recently found #ShotHotSpot.com. They don’t just search through locations that people have already added, they also use the location data of images from Flickr and Panoramio to automatically figure out the hotspots for an area. Now you can search by #location to get some ideas where to shoot next! Apps are currently under development for IOS and Android. Go have a look at http://bit.ly/2kM22mQ Have fun shooting! KP

Eagle Eye: Kristofer Rowe's avian photography takes flight with the new SP 150-600mm VC G2 lens. http://bit.ly/eNewsKristoferRoweJan2017
Kristofer Rowe can often be seen with camera in hand, roaming the beaches, fields, and nature preserves near his home in Connecticut, and his specialty is photographing the avian life that resides there. Kristofer, who's been using the Tamron SP 150-600mm VC lens for much of his bird photography, recently got his hands on the new 150-600mm VC G2 model and is already impressed by what he's been able to achieve with the updated unit.

If you have attempted taking pictures of your #pet, you know it can be a challenge. Getting Fido's attention, or an image of Kitty doing something other than sleeping doesn't need to be difficult. A bit of patience, and proper use of your #camera go a long way to getting an image you can share with pride. Here are some tips shared by #Josh #Norem, pet and landscape photograper - http://bit.ly/1MIzNOd Have fun! KP

Although it's getting much better with each generation of cameras, image #noise can kill a photo. Caused by shooting at #high #ISO values, noise is difficult to entirely remove. However, there are several software programs out there to reduce image destroying grain. I am happy with DeNoise, made by Topaz Labs. Here is a comparison of nine noise reduction apps, courtesy of the folks at #Fstoppers. http://bit.ly/2iCFCHq KP
