Hi - I've running the doubleTwist Classic Player beta for a while, and I'm seeing some pretty serious issues with power usage.

After using the doubleTwist player in my car - either connected via Bluetooth or using Android Auto - then disconnecting, the power usage on my phone goes really high and the phone gets quite warm. The Android power control panel is blaming doubleTwist player on the usage, and GSam Battery Monitor is showing the app holding a wakelock, which is keeping the system active.

Hopefully this can be resolved, for the moment I'm having to manually force stop the doubleTwist player app whenever I leave my car, or my phone will be dead in a couple hours…

Hey! So I've been using the doubleTwist Classic Player (Beta) for a little while to try out the Android Auto support, just gonna leave some feedback…

In the Android Auto UI, it's not obvious how to start a "shuffle all songs" playlist. Maybe you can add a few extra shortcut actions to the menu for stuff like this? In the Android app, I can go to "songs" in the left panel, then hit the shuffle action button - but there's no all songs view in the Android Auto view. (Understandably, since scrolling through 20k songs while driving would be a bit reckless!) I usually end up having to set up a playlist before connecting to the car.

I really miss having ReplayGain support (compared to the other Android players I've used via regular Bluetooth). As convenient as the steering wheel mounted volume control in my car is, I don't want to be playing with it all the time!

And finally, it would be nice if I could use Simple Last.fm Scrobbler https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adam.aslfms instead of the official Last.fm app; it has some handy battery-saving features (batched scrobbles), and support for extra services like Libre.fm and ListenBrainz (my personal fav., given my association with MusicBrainz!) (edit: this actually works fine!)

Hi, I'm taking a look for a new Android music player, doubleTwist CloudPlayer looks neat because of Android Auto & ChromeCast support. Have ~140GB local files on SD card…

My question: does this player support - or do you have plans to support - volume leveling via ReplayGain metadata? (if so, which file formats are supported?)

I made a thing that tells time. What colour is it now?

I honestly can't remember the last time I've heard of a site getting 'slashdotted'. Either people are using higher-performance hosting in general now, or the mobs of people have gotten smaller.

The disc controller for the COCO 1 - Tandy's FD-500 (with a custom ROM). There's really not all that much to the controller, see +Alan Cox's post https://plus.google.com/+AlanCoxLinux/posts/cnawreHoT4d to see how to program the somewhat similar Dragon disc controller… and why you don't want to.

Well, +Inbox by Gmail doesn’t work on my Apps account, and the web login has busted multiple-account support anyways. Guess I’m not trying Inbox today after all.

Finally, after more than a year, a new version of +MusicBrainz Picard. Many features added, many bugs fixed. If you use MusicBrainz, go update your Picard now.

Ah, nice. Google's confirmed that the Nexus 4 will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop.
