Members of Callan Tansey take part in Calcutta Run 2017

In the past 17 years, the Calcutta Run has raised in excess of €3.2m has been raised to support homeless youths in Dublin and Calcutta. The aim of the Calcutta Run is to actively involve all participants in raising funds for both recipient charities; The Peter McVerry Trust and The Hope Foundation.

Efforts are underway to generate interest in one of Sligo’s most influential natives, yet one is now virtually forgotten.

He’s William Bourke Cockran, who was born in Ballinacarrow in 1854.

Callan Tansey Solicitors is a leading law firm based in the North West, with offices in Sligo, Boyle, Ballina and Dublin. Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking to recruit a full time Solicitor to join our Medical Negligence team at our offices in Law Chambers, 3 Wine Street, Sligo.

Candidates should therefore have experience in Medical Negligence/General Litigation and in dealing with clients in a busy office.

The successful candidate must have:
• 1-5 years PQE;
• Excellent communication skills;
• The ability to work on their own initiative and to handle an extensive caseload;
• Commercial acumen, maturity and IT skills.

Brian Gill, Partner, Niamh Ni Mhurchu, Partner, & Roger Murray, Joint Managing Partner, welcome Avril Flannery and Amy Kelly to Callan Tansey.

Avril and Amy are from Galway and Ballina, respectively. They have joined the busy and expanding litigation unit of Callan Tansey and bring with them a wealth of experience from the major Dublin legal practices where they worked previously. Joining Avril and Amy is Mr. Johan Verbruggen who trained with Callan Tansey Solicitors and qualified as a practising Solicitor in December 2016. Johan is from Galway.
