The spine is a NEURO-SPINAL ORGAN that constantly sends critical input into the brain every milli-second that we are alive. This occurs so that the brain and nervous system can properly assess and adapt to its environment for ultimate survival of the organism.
This means any alteration or abnormalities to the neuro-spinal organ will wreak havoc to the brain, its ability to comprehend and respond to its internal and external environment, and thus.....the health expression of the individual. This is a 22 year old patient in our office who presented with limited range of motion, neck and shoulder pain. You can see the red curve is actually curving the opposite way from the green. This puts tremendous strain on our spinal cord and causes compression and pain in the neck and shoulders. Seeing this reverse in curve is caused by many factors but includes forward head posture while at a computer, at a desk, reading/using phones or tablets excessively and poor posture. Remember that forward head posture is like holding a bowling ball on a stick at an angle, it is easier to hold it upright. Every inch your head comes forward is 10lbs of pressure perceived by the shoulders. You can fix pain and tension by readjusting your head position and getting adjusted regularily! ‪#‎chiropractor‬ ‪#‎forwardhead‬ ‪#‎neckpain‬
