I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with the 22nd Army Chief of Chaplains and record an episode of Chaplain Stories. Check it out and share it with your friends!

Here's the latest episode in the Chaplain Stories podcast where I sit down with Chaplains and ask them about their stories from the frontlines of ministry.

Several of the Chaplains I've interviewed were among the first to care for and honor Soldiers who were killed in combat. If you are looking for something to listen to this long weekend you should check out the "Chaplain Stories" podcast.

These podcasts let Chaplains put into their own words what it means to nurture the living, care for the wounded, and honor the fallen.

This week I sat down with Chaplain (MAJ) Brad Tripp and we had a wonderful conversation. He shared with me some stories about a difficult Iraq deployment and also how a newspaper article in the weeks following 9-11 helped give him a push toward the Chaplaincy. Check out the podcast to hear these stories and many others!

Friends,
I had a great opportunity today that I couldn't pass up. Retired Chaplain (COL) Ken Sampson was at our UMT training. He currently works for Guideposts as a military liaison. When he mentioned that he became a Chaplain in 1983, the year I was born, I knew I had to ask if he'd be willing to sit down and do an interview. He graciously agreed even with having to make a flight home a bit later in the afternoon.

He was so enjoyable to interview and had some fascinating stories to tell. Please bear with me, especially in these early episodes, as I try to find my stride as an interviewer and also continue to fine tune the recording process.

If you enjoyed this podcast, it would mean the world to me if you'd subscribe on either iTunes or Soundcloud and, most importantly, share it with other folks you think would enjoy it.

Thanks so much for checking out the podcast and for your support.

(note)- If the podcast hasn't hit iTunes yet you can find it by refreshing the Chaplain Stories podcast feed in the app.

Friends, last night I uploaded the first episode of "Chaplain Stories." This episode is just me explaining what inspired the podcast and and talking a little bit about the way ahead. There's a bit of a learning curve with this podcasting thing so please bear with me. I recorded myself three separate times last night until I was happy with the audio quality of the recording. The quality of the host, however, is something that will take more time and practice to improve.

It would mean the world to me if you would check out the podcast. Especially when the next episode hits and I have my first interview with a Chaplain. The best things you can do to support it are to subscribe on iTunes or Soundcloud (Soundcloud has a solid stand alone smartphone app) and then just to listen and share if you feel like there are other folks out there who would like to hear these stories.  The next episode will be the first interview episode. After that, I'll hope that there is some momentum that can sustain the podcast.

I appreciate each of you taking the time to check out this labor of love to give Chaplains a medium to tell their stories.

Here's the Soundcloud link. The iTunes link will be in the comments or you can find it by searching "Chaplain Stories."
