Facilities are very dated. If you're looking for a resort or spa-style hot spring, this is not the place. The price isn't cheap either (for a private bath outside) --- ~$50/hour. The public pools were not an option for us, since men and women have separate pools. Per hour felt pretty rushed for wanting to relax in a natural spring. It was the closest thing in the area that we could find on our travels that day, and was pleasant enough to soak outside; however, for the price, I wish he had driven elsewhere to a better facility. A private bath is simply a hot tub filled with spring water. Nothing about the experience really felt "natural" other than being outside (fencing surrounds the private bath). Staff were very friendly. Overall, it was o.k.

Decor gets an "Excellent", which includes the scenic "lake" view from the twinkling back patio covered in leafy vines. Sunset is the best time to visit, as this cafe has the most unique vibe of any cafe I've visited in Tallahassee; mostly because it's situated on the banks of a nicely sculpted pond with a showering fountain in the middle, where visitors and their furry children (pets, I mean) can stroll the circuitous sidewalk. I'm always about their Italian Mango Soda (Club soda with a shot of mango syrup), but they serve a slew of coffee roasts and some teas (maybe lots of teas, but I never pay attention to their selection.) Service is guaranteed to be witty and/or sarcastic (totally welcomed this sense of humor.) The vibe of this place is comfortably unique.

Try the Beef Randang, a slow-cooked-all-day coconut-based, lightly curried, caramalized beef dish served with Indonesian rice cakes and perfectly steamed, still slightly crunchy broccoli. You'll melt like this dish melts in your mouth. And guess what's more.....the dish is only $8.00. I frequent Tan's Asian, maybe twice a month. The service is some of the friendliest I've encountered in the restaurant business, however, if it's a busy Thurs or Fri night you might wait up to 45mins for cooked-to-order dishes like Chow-mein or Curry with Onion. The servers have always come over and apologized profusely, and sometimes even served complimentary egg rolls. Even so, I think it's worth the wait on these nights if you're not bound by time-sensitive commitments in a 2hr time-span. Tan's is a small place next to Esposito's, a landscaping company, so it's surrounded by an assortment of ferns, vines, and giant clay gardening pots. Kind of a unique feel for a restaurant entrance even if it may not have been intentional. The inside of the cafe is clean enough. No strongly themed decorations and they have several booths and your standard tables. Overall the atmosphere fits the "cafe" genre of restaurants. You'll keep coming back for the delicious food.

Sometimes I also surf active volcanoes... :P I'll definitely save that expression to use in the future! It was trial and error on determining the right interval for the map, so using an expression that automatically selects multiples would've saved a lot of time.

Simple, reusable notepad to replace scratch paper at the office:

- acrylic "plexiglass" sheet (home improvement store)
- Chalk markers (craft store)
- self adhesive vinyl bumpers (home improvement store)
- Olfa cutter for slicing theough acrylic (not sure, maybe a craft store? I got mine several years ago from a local shop that catered to Architecture students)

Ink stays put after a couple of minutes of drying. Wipes off with a dry or wet paper towel.

Anyone in the San Fran area, heads up. I'd LOVE to go, but can't seem to justify the $500 plane ticket for a one day fly-in, fly-out.
