Congratulations to The Humanitarian Group Ambassador, Grace Forrest, who was recently appointed the United Nations Association of Australia Goodwill Ambassador for Anti-slavery.

The Humanitarian Group provides migration and legal assistance to people who have been victims of human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices and we are thrilled that Grace has a further opportunity to work towards the end of modern slavery.

If you have read the latest Global Trends Report, you will know that global number of people forcibly displaced by persecution, conflict, or generalised violence is at a record high. Amazingly, people are still able to find unbelievable grace and resilience in the face of this adversity. Be prepared to be blown away by the spoken word poet who opens the Tedx KakumaCamp - the first Tedx event at a refugee camp.

“We are at a watershed, where success in managing forced displacement globally requires a new and far more comprehensive approach so that countries and communities aren’t left dealing with this alone.”
- Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

It's World Refugee Day and the UNHCR has released its latest Global Trends Report - a snapshot of forced displacement at a global level.
