On Monday, March 5, CAMA’s 2011-2012 Masterseries at the Lobero continues with early music vocal ensemble Anonymous 4.

Renowned for their unearthly vocal blend, the four women of Anonymous 4 celebrate 25 years together with Anthology 25, a retrospective program of works from each of their harmonia mundi CD releases. Highlights include the music of Hildegard of Bingen, John Tavener, a new work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang, and the group's trademark selection of medieval, Renaissance and traditional music.

Anonymous 4's "curiosity ranges wide, a millennium's worth of repertoire. But no matter the style, the group has a knack for bringing out music's ritual, comforting in its formality while intriguing in its mystery." — Boston Globe

Program Notes for Anonymous 4's March 5 concert are now available on CAMA’s website:
http://www.camasb.org/program_notes_1112/programnotes_march5_anonymous4.pdf

History Notes. The New York Philharmonic's May 10, 2012 concert marks its fourth visit to Santa Barbara. The orchestra's three prior appearances were all presented by CAMA and all took place at The Granada Theatre –– May 1, 1955 directed by Dimitri Mitropoulos; September 1, 1960 with Leonard Bernstein as conductor and piano soloist; and September 7, 1969 directed by Seiji Ozawa. The program for the 1960 concert with Bernstein is archived on the New York Philharmonic's website and can be viewed here:
