Android 8.1_r7 has been merged this afternoon!
Who ever wants to update their Beta builds is free to do that, meanwhile a build for hammerhead users will also be rolled out later by me (Keep checking the XDA Thread), the number of issues now on the "Not Working List" (still speaking of hammerhead) are:
- Video recording is broken
- Video PlayBack is broken (But streaming from Browser is working)
- NFC is broken
That's it for now, I'll look up into those in the next days till then enjoy the new Security Patch!

Please keep in mind that this is still a Beta build which means it's still much AOSP-ish and features will come later after we fix all the bugs. If you come across an issue please let me know in the thread :)

Attention Everyone!
I want to first of all wish happy holidays to everyone and your families and also thank you for your support that you gave to us through this year.
I only joined the team from the end of summer but this is only MY announcement, +Jon West or someone else will write up something and maybe more rich of worlds lol.
Second, I am very happy to announce that Team Bliss gained customised sections on XDA and from now on all our Official threads and discussions are going to be all handled in one place which is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/bliss-roms
We will start importing/creating the threads for our Official devices and resume all the discussions from there.
Another thing, please read this up: https://forum.xda-developers.com/bliss-roms/bliss-roms-discussion/bliss-aio-thread-informations-t3723970
And don't forget that we will monitorize and read up ALL the posts in order to preserve a well atmosphere between the users.
Maintainers don't forget to write me up if you haven't done already to have your threads moved there ;)
Happy holidays again and see you guys next year!

End of the line people....
XOSP is officially ending today, no more updates are going to be made, no more support so basically the project is shutting down completely.
The builds for our Official Devices are going to be released during these hours so have a bit of patience.
I also updated the XOSPApps where there was the necessity to be done and I also disabled natively the possibility to update Album and Sony Music from Play Store.
That was done because of some issues which were covered already before on the XOSP Channel on Telegram and basically to avoid the automatic updates this
had to be done. If you will try to update it manually from Play Store that will not be possible.
The major changes made to the last update are all covered here if you want to check up:
https://gist.githubusercontent.com/nilac8991/7940fffdf645e476955053858db359a3/raw/e07bacb5e5f759f0b97c7add0bd90870404414ec/XOSP-ChangeLOG-September.txt
Regarding the project, guys, 4 years of an amazing journey for me, I honestly learnt many things by developing this project, I also met fantastic and nice people but as well as jerks so it was a bit of both. What made XOSP so popular in the last years was the fact of the growing community so big thanks to all of you who supported me starting from the Galaxy S+ Days with S+ Reborn (Hard Core Galaxy S+ Users for sure tried it on their terminals :) ) , another part are the maintainers and the people who wanted to compile this OS on their terminals and share it among the forums so thank you as well guys.
Lastly, the diversification, you guys know it very well that this is not the stock Android experience you find it with the other ROMs and this was a BIG + for the Project.
Many articles and reviews were made and all the people who tried XOSP left a good impression about it.
I am very sad right now writing this and I really hoped to continue even more this project because it has or sadly had lot of potential but it seems that not many good people wanted to do this, I am nothing contrary with their decisions because I know this OS is not made for everybody tastes so it is shared among a group of specific people who want the Sony Xperia Style badly.
Then, there is also the whole concept regarding keep the OS at a specific minimal standard and this was appreciated but as well as controversial for many.
In the end, XOSP, remained on the minimal and stood by many of the discussions saying that many features were missing and so on, even with the fact of the Native OMS support which was never included Officially by me and you know why...
I really hope that this project inspired some out there in the Android Custom ROMs community to create something new and out of the generic box which you can find among the various OS Variants available right now.
Maybe we will see a Samsung ROM or an LG one :P , just kidding it doesn't need to be an OEM oriented Style or as in terms of features but just something new and pleasant for the users.
I am glad that this project gave satisfaction and smiles to many users across the globe so I think my goals and missions were fully achieved thinking that this job was never something professional or that this project was done by a group of people in the team.
So with all said enjoy this last build of XOSP and don't worry about me, I will still be around here and there but for now I will just take a break and focus on Life Priorities.
See ya guys!

I’d like to take a moment from our normal routine to address a couple issues I’ve observed within the Android development community. Now I’m gonna leave you hanging there for a minute while I tell you a story.
Once upon a time in our little corner of the universe, there were a few people that saw the changes happening with Android development, and saw the need to unite as a team, and create a good solid Open Source ROM for others to use, adapt and add to. This is the team that pretty much started something really good for the community, but it grew too big and went in too many directions for it to effectively fulfil the need to the community it once did.
Fast forward about 7 years, and the growth of that team led to it falling apart. Yes, the ROM lives on under a different name, but the gap in the needs of the community carried on.
There were many that tried to fill that gap, but as time went on, the work needed was too large for just a few to work on and keep up with outside their daily lives. While the rest of the community did nothing to contribute towards the future of the base projects, they only forked it in order to make their own. And this is where the story takes a turn.
There was a need for a new base ROM, because most teams and ROM developers have been spending their time working on bringing up device trees, or taking a fork of someone else’s ROM, and stripping away the branding, added SDK’s, etc. just to get things to a point where forward movement could commence. This is where one of our issues lies too. There is a need for a new kind of base ROM that everyone can use, and while we’re at it, I’d like to suggest we make it easy for people to learn from as well. I’ll be honest and admit that the majority of us really need to work at better documenting our commits and changes, and I’ll leave that at that for now.
The new base should work with ANY device config; los, aosp, du, omni, bliss, etc. We should be keeping the variants list in our Vendor too, and allow other teams to add their device prefixes to it. It should also move away from making changes directly to AOSP I feel. We can use /build/… in our vendor and device configs for any changes needed to be made on top of AOSP for added functions. For this project, we should also consider making the move away from adding directly to frameworks as well, but that is a task easier said than done. And the need for common SDK’s might also not be there any longer, but that is a story for a different post.
Why are we all spending so much of our time working towards what we picture as end goal for our own perspective view, when we could be working together towards a much grander view, allowing all the effort and time being put into getting things up to a point where forward movement can take place to be put into future innovation instead. Doing this will widen the compatibility across the board and speed production, allowing us to only have to keep a few things added to the actual AOSP code in order to truly expand on things.
Now, I do have to hand out a few props to the community for starting on this idea or something similar, but I would also like to say that I feel we might be doing it all wrong. We need to be doing it unbranded and there’s only one small team that has tried that. I know a few on Bliss Family have toyed with this idea as well as AOSP-CAF & GZR, and I give you all mad props, but I feel our biggest hold up on the idea is that we brand it as our own. THIS is where I feel we have built walls as ROM teams. Our branding might identify us and help to add to a prestige or lineage, but I feel it is that ego that has slowly been destroying our community of developers from day one. So this new base must also try and remove the EGO as well. We now have a need to form a team once again that has no wall, no brand, no ego and no boundaries, but has a sole purpose towards setting a new stage for development and allowing forward innovation to move as fast as possible within the community.
And to those wondering why I’m putting this out there? There are some things you might see that need to be changed about the environment around you, but you feel are too big to change by yourself. Don’t hold onto your observations, because they will grow stale and lose their spark. Share the ones you can’t do alone. Because the community is always listening and change will happen, even if you can’t facilitate that change yourself.
I’m open to having a serious conversation about this with any other teams or developers. Our schedule is an open book, so don’t be afraid to reach out to either me.

New Official builds are going to roll out today including the new August security patch! (android-7.1.2_r33)
The new Official builds are also going to include some new personalization settings for StatusBar such as: Custom Carrier Label and Clock and Date personalizations.
Apart those, the builds will also feature a much more balanced experience in terms of stability and performace.
You can check out the full Changelog right here:
https://gist.githubusercontent.com/nilac8991/8faeb32be7dbe452ab741ce7efb36f5d/raw/6021671196bf2b45976d95f9844acd40c171f41d/gistfile1.txt
Regarding the builds you can always check the status for your device here:
http://jenkins.xosp.org
During this month eventually there are going to be made no more builds and I will just come back again with the last ROM update by September with the latest Security Patch and other ported stuff from XOSP MM.
Since I am also be away many days from this month and also others as well, the point of releasing updates will be kinda useless so see ya all back in September!
