This small apartment in Singapore has a design statement in every corner- a raw cement pillar in the center, a clear white brick wall left unadorned, and an overall outstanding use of varied materials.

Spring is here which means renovation season is around the corner. Here is a beautiful example of a home in Montreal (from 1890) that underwent a serious facelift and looks outstanding. The renovation gave the home a modern crystal clean feel and the use of materials is inspirational.

Why go for the ordinary when you can have the extra-ordinary. The Carat glasses are absolute showstoppers with a pointed vs. flat base. Created by Lincoln Kayiwa of KAYIWA studio design, the glass collection offers a new, exciting and super stylish way to enjoy your favorite drink. http://ow.ly/ZZkAB

Storage is always a key issue, especially in small apartments. Here is a beautiful designer solution which a staircase offers ample and easily accessible storage space in a 40 square meter apt! http://ow.ly/ZQ7T5
A small space in which to dwell has become big business for developers. But making these compact spaces pleasing to live in is often up to ingenious architects and designers. Which is where Helen Baranova comes in – the expert designer for this two-level studio apartment, measuring in at only 40 square meters, or around …

The Tower House was designed by Andrew Maynard, one of the most promising young architects in the world. The structures themselves feature gabled roofs of varying heights and a very reduced set of materials and textures. All ornamentation and unnecessary detail has been stripped, leaving only the formal and material expression of each node. http://ow.ly/ZQ6jg

This year there was a special buzz in the air as top international designers Jaime In the recent Salon QP, an exhibition of fine watches held in London, Jaime
Hayon and Marc Newson presented their limited edition timepieces. While completely different in style, both creations rely on the longstanding use of craftsmanship and traditional processes and yet add a refreshing element contemporary design. http://ow.ly/10dYpp

A glimpse into the good life- a modern chalet in France. Makes you just want to stop what you are doing and go on vacation. The chalet was recently expanded. The material palettes are analogous, but not identical. A heavy dose of both sprawling, reflective glass and subdued natural wood make offer a well-adjusted addition to the towering mountain range that sustains it. Flat metal trim with a dark bronze patina accents the crisp edges of the addition, creating bold lines that frame the floor to ceiling glass from the outside, and the incredible views from the inside. http://ow.ly/10dWZB

Expandable tables are brilliant. Why have a table that takes up tones of space if you don't need it on a daily basis? The Tino table is a fantastic example of how an expandable table can add to the decor of your home. It comes in a wide variety of finishing so that it perfectly matches your taste. http://ow.ly/ZZkfJ

Nothing beats a cozy blanket when you feel a bit chilly. The Rumple Puffy Blanket is made from the same premium materials found in sleeping bags and insulated jackets, and is perfect for camping or just sitting outside on a cool, crisp morning. http://ow.ly/ZQ5VW

Don't be afraid of color. Worst case scenario you re-paint it. Look at this design- the slate grey hardwood floors create a clean path throughout, and the crimson red beam extended from the floor and across the ceiling within the living room, add dimension and an artistic flare, set oddly perfectly against the quiet flame of the fireplace also stationed here.

Rediscovering the power of simple design
Introduction

Back in 2006 Busyboo set out to rediscover the power of simple design.

Simple, uncomplicated design with a touch of aesthetics. And most importantly, practical.

Our mission is to be a source of inspiration for good design, both inside and out. By exploring architecture, interior spaces, and product design, not only do we share creativity and beauty but also address different aspects of living in today’s world.

Our team is a diverse group of design-lovers, bringing different views on design from all around the world. Good design is global, and so are we.

That, pretty much, sums it up.

Enjoy :-)
