What an incredible weekend we have had with the Folkestone Airshow! Some fabulous displays in the air with plenty to do on the ground as well. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and hope you can make it back next year!

Together at the Burlington, my wife and I had an amazing stay. The room we had was a corner with sea views to our left and out of the front windows a spectacular court yard. The room was slightly older and the shower not so great, didn't matter though. The proximity to dover, Canterbury, and Folkstone itself more than made up for it.
Response from the owner - a week ago
Thanks for your review. We will investigate the shower, thank you for pointing it out. We look forward to welcoming you again upon your next visit.

The rooms are well fitted out. The hotel clearly used to be a desirable destination for those seeking sea air. Unfortunately, much like Folkstone itself, the hotel has seen better days. It is clean but the décor is dated and the atmosphere reminds you a bit of Are You Being Served? The carriacatures of English seaside holiday destinations are all there. Everyone is very nice but you can't help feeling that, aside from the (delightfully) precocious young man on reception, you could be in any down at heel seaside resort in England.

Thank you for your review. We are undergoing a full refurbishment of the hotel rooms which are now 75% complete and also the public areas, bar and restaurant which will be the last items on the project. Folkestone is also in the middle of an ongoing development plan with several great places to visit such as the coastal park, creative quarter and the popular harbour arm as well as a number of new developments which are earmarked for the near future. We hope you will consider us again if you return to Folkestone in the future when hopefully you will be able to see some of these developments.

Very clean hotel. Quiet room. Good one night accommodation and great location on the promenade. Took the dog and dig bed provided by hotel....nice touch!

Great staff and delicious meal. I loved our room 413 just a bit cold even though both heaters were on. I absolutely recommend specially for its duck leg main meal ;)

Thanks for your review and your comments! We will investigate the temperature problem in the room so thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Stayed for one night before catching the ferry in Dover. The hotel is charming, but it seems more like glory from days past. There is no airconditioning in the rooms, which made the rooms almost too hot too sleep in for our one night, which admittedly was a very hot day. The food is decent, and staff is friendly.
Response from the owner - a month ago
Thank you for your review, please note the hotel is in the final stages of a full refurbishment with just 15% of the rooms and the restaurant and bar area left to complete. You're right, we have experienced some of the hottest days of the year this week. Whilst we don't have air-conditioning in our rooms we do offer electric fans which can help on the few days of the year where this can be an issue. Thank you for your comments about our staff and food.

It's a nice place, staff are nice, rooms are clean. Over all it is a little tired as are move seaside hotels in England, but this one is aging well.

Great Modernised hotel, very nice bed, showering in the bathtub was OK. Nice people at front desk. The building has a magnificent image, and located right at the cliff edge at the sea!
