Loved the ambiance (especially the poet on demand) and the IPA..one of the best I've ever had in the region. However, I was treated dismissively by a server and left the place wishing I had not given it my business. I asked for recommendations for my partner who doesn't like hoppy beer and got an eye roll and a menu and a stern "just read this". I have never been treated with such hostility in a customer service situation nor seen an employee of a microbrew exemplify such pretentiousness- ever. Very disappointed.

Very cool microbrewery with a bunch of personality going on here from the bartenders to the actual building space. the beers here are darn good and it gives you a reason to go out of your way and stop by to check this place out. The bar space has been done really well and as you enter there is a welcoming quality, you will feel like a local. They have plenty of outside seating and four legged friends appear to be just as welcomed here as two legged.

This place does beer well. They even had donuts when I came by (they didn't make them, but they were free for everyone... you can't go wrong with free donuts). There are only a handful of styles on tap, but they were all good. This is also a cool place just to hang out with a few friends and drink the afternoon away.

You can't miss this place. I would describe this place as a house party that kind of grew into a brewery. On your first visit, you may have to resist the urge to knock on the front door before entering. Very good selection, not a lot of seating, cool taps.

I've visited quite a few breweries in my travels and this is, by far, one of the best I have been to. Awesome laid back atmosphere, nice and knowledgeable staff and great beers. If you are in Asheville and love beer, you need to stop by Burial.

This is quite simply the best beer in town, served by the best people in the best environment. Imagine the variety and inventiveness of Wicked Weed but with the quality control of Green Man and a tap room as open and inviting as Twin Leaf. Burial also has the best bartenders in town. One day, they'll start bottling their beer. It's a shame they can't bottle the whole experience.

I frequent many breweries here in Asheville and Burial has become my favorite over the past year. They consistently produce extremely high quality and creative beers while also staying true to genuine beer styling. Every week they present new offerings that are able to satisfy very particular tastes and expectations for beer quality. In a town where a microbrew is extremely common, this one stands out. Also, the owners and bartenders create friendly atmosphere and are very approachable about their product. As well as the space is rustically cozy and has a good amount of 90's grunge-indie charm. Be sure to check this place out!

I loved the area and the beer. The bathroom was clean (which is a major thing for me.) I drank The Shroud Belgian Dubbel, The Garden of Earthly Delights, and Reaper. I would go back.

SMALL BATCH! An all NC beer! Brewed with Riverbend Malthouse Rye, Red Wheat and Pilsner malt, local sassafras root and stinging nettles, this beer is a tribute to our local agriculture. It is easy drinking with a unique sweetness from the sassafras with that “farmy”/“earthiness” from the nettles.

Every Sunday since December, Burial Beer Co., Josh, Gary and Jake have brought you a Jazz Brunch.

I am sad to announce that this Sunday will be the last Jazz Brunch for the foreseeable future. Josh and Gary are pushing forward to open their own brewery, Bhramari Brewhouse. As we know, it takes up most of your time to open a small business. So, it is a bittersweet ending!
It has been wonderful to have a day a week where we all get together over delicious food and beer. We will continue to host Salt + Smoke small plates on Tuesdays and Hops + Hoagies on Wednesday (minus the month David is traveling this summer!).

So this Sunday, we bring you a special menu and brunch drinks for Asheville Beer Week. Items made with beer and three options for brunch drinks with crazy garnishes.

Brunch drinks will be served outside where the guys cook and serve. Food is free but these guys work so hard week after week, prepping, cooking and serving so please tip them generously.

Two Saisons being released this week!

Wednesday/Tomorrow: Thresher Coffee Saison-

Our goal- to prove that coffee does not always have to pair with dark beer. Here, we brewed a French Saison and added cold pressed Counter Culture Coffee’s Buthale and Baroida varieties post fermentation. You will be pleasantly surprised by the subtle notes of strawberry and concord grape.

ABV: 5.5%       OG: 1.048      IBU: 18    Color: Golden

Thursday: Magpie on the Gallows Sassafrass, Nettles Saison -

SMALL BATCH! An all NC beer!

Brewed with Riverbend Malthouse Rye, Red Wheat and Pilsner malt, local sassafras root and stinging nettles, this beer is a tribute to our local agriculture. It is easy drinking with a unique sweetness from the sassafras with that “farmy”/“earthiness” from the nettles.

Open 4-10PM today and rocking a small batch brew-

Battle Axe Belgian Strong Ale- Aged for 2 months, this Belgian Strong Ale was brewed using local malt from Riverbend Malthouse. Hoppier than your average Strong Ale, you will get a rich, full body and notes of honey followed by a subtle hop profile. 9% ABV

We are also releasing The Prayer Bier d' Abricot this week (date TBA)!
Brewed with Pilsner, Raw Wheat and some Vienna and Honey Malt as well as Rakau and Tettanger hops, this Belgian Blonde Ale is built to produce a subtle yet traditional sweetness with an abundance of orchard fruit in the aroma. Aged on 130 pounds of apricots to provide a slight tartness.

Today is the day where we release The Rosary Export Stout aged in Brandy Barrels. This beer without the barrel aging has notes of plum, hazelnut and roasted coffee bean. The barrel aging process added notes of sweet brandy and subtle vanilla. At only 7.5% ABV, this beer is about as drinkable as a 4 month barrel aged stout gets!

We open at 2PM! Limited release- 30 cases for sale today.

Tomorrow, we brunch it up starting at noon and release our newest beer The Prayer Bier d'apricot. This is a Belgian Blonde aged on 130 pounds of apricot!
