Overheard in the burger joint:

Hey it’s nearly the 4th of July, make sure to grab a burger and head to the East River; fireworks will be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge and from barges in the water below. The best viewing spots will be from Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, and along the east side of Lower Manhattan.

After searching hard for this place we finally found it! The food was delicious, and I am thankful we did not give up on trying to find it. I am usually not a burger eater, but I really enjoyed my meal. The fries were also great better than any fast food restaurant! My only complaint was that my meal deal was named the 666.

The burger is good but not outstanding. Then the 45 mn waiting is not worth it at all. you are asked to be ready to order when you finally reach the cashier... Nonetheless, one of my friends got the wrong order... The brownie she got as an apology had no taste and a spongy texture... I wouldn't recommand the place certainly victim of its success.

Well... First you get in a luxurious hotel and wonder wether you are in the right place? But as you walk through the lobby onto your left behind some red curtain there is it, a greasy burger joint with Rock n roll posters and graffitis all over the walls, we had to share a table with 2 other people that were very easy going! Burgers were good beer as well and we met to fantastic people who recommended other bars for our trip. All in all just awesome, go there if you like quirky!!!

Hidden behind floor length red drapes sits a little ball of grease heaven. With lines sure to be shorter than Shake Shack in Madison Square Park sits burger joint inside Le Parker Meridian. The style is similar, with a minimalist menu and one hell of a burger. As you approach the entrance to burger joint you are greeted by international flags and menus in eight or so languages so there is communication issues with your order. If you speak English, feel free to speak your order instead of filling out the menu sheet. Minimal works well here as you can order quickly and the return time is not bad. I suggest you send one person to order and one person to eye and hover the table closest to being finished. You tell the counter the following: -how you would like your meat cooked -number of patties (zero – cheese!, one, two or supposedly a secret three) -dressing: lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced pickles, ketchup, mayo, mustard -fries if you want them -giant pickle if you want it Drink: beer, wine, soda, lemonade, or milk shake The burger is truly delicious. The fries are thin and cooked just right. You can’t go wrong with a [fountain root] beer. C’mon, it was work hours people! If there’s a line I guarantee it will move quickly.

Let's start if off with how to find "burger joint". The building you're looking for is the Parker Meridien upper class hotel, which might seem weird at first glance. When walking through the left lobby, turn left in front of the big curtain and you're going to see a small burger sign. Inside this little room - which might as well be the janitors closet, looking at the hotel - is a burger shop full of style and mostly unique ambience. That's what you're paying for: the walls are full of posters, stickers, handwritten stuff and signatures. The menu is carefully written into cardboard and put over the counter, there is 70s TV hanging in one of the corners and the light is really chilly. Most of the times quite a few people seem to be waiting there, though it doesn't take that log to get your burger: There really isn't much service or anything like that, also the burgers are pretty expensive compared to how small they are - the meat itself is fantastic, I got to admit. As already mentioned, you're paying for the atmosphere. But as that alone isn't enough, I'm gonna give "burger joint" 4 out of 5 stars, mostly because of its unique way of presentation.

tucked away in the corner of what appears to be a really nice hotel is this little burger place. I had to ask when I arrived at the hotel as I wasn't sure I was even in the right place. I had a regular burger with fries and a coke and it was delicious. The place was packed which doesn't surprise me as it is on the small side. worth a visit if you like your burgers!

Can you say random? For lovers of a unique experience this place is the ultimate. You walk into the lobby of the Le Parker Meridien and there are velvet curtains that one would never imagine hold a secret behind them. Walk through the curtains and it feels like a time capsule beamed you to another dimension where you are now in a greasy hole in the wall burger joint with rock n roll posters on the wall and a pretty damn good burger and fries. Go early and be patient because there is always a line. But it is well worth the wait.
