New Wave Summer Grilling Tips

NOW GRIND IT- 80/20 chuck: grind it yourself or visit a local butcher
INTO SHAPE- form loose patties (5oz each)
SHAPE IT UP- make them larger than your bun 'cause they're gonna shrink
GET STRAIGHT- prep your toppings in advance
GO FORWARD- gas or charcoal, we don't judge
MOVE AHEAD- grill your burgers over high heat
TRY TO DETECT IT- 3 minutes on each side for medium rare
IT'S NOT TOO LATE- don’t forget, NO pressing down on your burgers while cooking
TO FLIP IT- only once
FLIP IT GOOD- onto your plate

Enjoy!

tucked away in the corner of what appears to be a really nice hotel is this little burger place. I had to ask when I arrived at the hotel as I wasn't sure I was even in the right place. I had a regular burger with fries and a coke and it was delicious. The place was packed which doesn't surprise me as it is on the small side. worth a visit if you like your burgers!

Can you say random? For lovers of a unique experience this place is the ultimate. You walk into the lobby of the Le Parker Meridien and there are velvet curtains that one would never imagine hold a secret behind them. Walk through the curtains and it feels like a time capsule beamed you to another dimension where you are now in a greasy hole in the wall burger joint with rock n roll posters on the wall and a pretty damn good burger and fries. Go early and be patient because there is always a line. But it is well worth the wait.

Super cute place! You won't even know it was there unless you've seen it on Anthony Bourdain or word of mouth. Definitely avoid going on a friday night - esp in the summer. You'll be waiting for forever.

Well... First you get in a luxurious hotel and wonder wether you are in the right place? But as you walk through the lobby onto your left behind some red curtain there is it, a greasy burger joint with Rock n roll posters and graffitis all over the walls, we had to share a table with 2 other people that were very easy going! Burgers were good beer as well and we met to fantastic people who recommended other bars for our trip. All in all just awesome, go there if you like quirky!!!

Hidden behind floor length red drapes sits a little ball of grease heaven. With lines sure to be shorter than Shake Shack in Madison Square Park sits burger joint inside Le Parker Meridian. The style is similar, with a minimalist menu and one hell of a burger. As you approach the entrance to burger joint you are greeted by international flags and menus in eight or so languages so there is communication issues with your order. If you speak English, feel free to speak your order instead of filling out the menu sheet. Minimal works well here as you can order quickly and the return time is not bad. I suggest you send one person to order and one person to eye and hover the table closest to being finished. You tell the counter the following: -how you would like your meat cooked -number of patties (zero – cheese!, one, two or supposedly a secret three) -dressing: lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced pickles, ketchup, mayo, mustard -fries if you want them -giant pickle if you want it Drink: beer, wine, soda, lemonade, or milk shake The burger is truly delicious. The fries are thin and cooked just right. You can’t go wrong with a [fountain root] beer. C’mon, it was work hours people! If there’s a line I guarantee it will move quickly.

If you've been to Secret Pizza at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas you'll understand the concept: put a funky little "hole-in-the-wall" joint selling good, simple food at reasonable prices in an out-of-the-way area of a swanky hotel. I walk into the lobby of this hotel and I'm looking around the lobby confused; the doorman immediately points me to a little hallway off to the left--there's a little neon sign of a burger--aha! At least they have that; Secret Pizza has no indicator whatsoever. Anyhoo, I wander down the hall and find myself transported into a tiny little greasy burger joint, complete with signs written on pieces of cardboard and cheesy old movie posters on the wall. It's about noon so the lunch crowd is swinging into full effect, and there is a line (not too big of one yet, thank goodness). They have little order slips in all different languages for the foreign visitors, as they want you to have your order READY by the time you get to the counter. There are all kinds of instructions telling you exactly what you need to do, lol. I'd say this process borders on Burger Nazism, but the workers are actually pretty friendly. I just ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a drink and found a seat at a communal table right next to the order counter. I was sitting next to a French couple and it seemed like a majority of the people in the place were foreign tourists--must be in all the guide books now, I guess! It took about 10 minutes for my burger to come out, and lo, it was good. Everything was fresh and tasty I liked how they squash the buns so they're flattened and dense--made the burger easier to eat. The fries were golden-brown and crispy, and I ate almost all of the generous mound they give you. It was definitely worth the stop and am looking forward to hitting it up again on future visits!

Burgers are decent but not noteworthy. The patty was nice but everything else was standard fare. And so, with the long line and difficult to find seating, I was unimpressed.
