Never eating more than one meal a day because she can't afford to on Newstart. It is difficult to find your way out of disadvantage when you don't have the means to do so. http://ow.ly/3y6o30kIMBy

What do you think about drug testing people on Centrelink payments? On the one hand, fair enough, people should be doing what they can to participate in society. On the other hand we might be punishing drug addicts instead of helping. Entirely undesirable. http://ow.ly/cmsV30kIMwb

Ms Berejiklian became premier nearly 18 months ago declaring that lack of affordable housing in NSW was a critical concern. This budget sets aside no meaningful new spending on affordable rental housing - where are people going to live? http://ow.ly/uUIM30kIKjS

The numbers of people experiencing homelessness on the Northern Beaches is climbing, with rental accommodation in every single suburb now officially unaffordable. The Northern Beaches Council are committed to reducing the impact of homelessness on our most vulnerable populations http://ow.ly/8zoH30kLeaA

Expecting people to be able to survive when all the odds are stacked against them and blaming them on top of it is unfair. We need to step up to our collective responsibility and ensure we are looking after everyone in society. http://ow.ly/sGA730kIKaT

A survey of 66,000 rental properties in Australia concluded those surviving on Newstart or youth allowance only could afford 0.00004 percent - that's just 2 properties. That's essentially zero affordability for people on welfare to have a home! This causes young people to lose hope and of course a cause of homelessness. http://ow.ly/aakI30kIK6V

"We know all organisations ask for support and that there are so many worthy causes it's difficult to support everyone. We rely on the support of our local partners and community, whether it's a room makeover, donation of time, services or products on monetary contribution it all goes towards helping our local youth. Based on current research the estimated lifetime
savings are up to 26 times the amount invested up-front in our preventative work - what we do works!" http://ow.ly/HnDK30kIK4m

If you're expected to live on just $17 a day after paying for housing - how are you supposed to afford anything - food for one but other basic necessities and opportunities, should a child go without a birthday present, how do you find a job when you can't afford to look for one (most jobs are on the internet) or to get to an interview? http://ow.ly/zrZ030kIJXp

Homelessness denies you not only a roof over your head but a sense of identity and a feeling of security When housing becomes a commodity then having a home becomes more and more of a privilege. We believe that is wrong. It's not the fault of the individual that there is a lack of housing, a lack of opportunity and employment - Australia has a duty to it's people to provide safe, affordable accommodation, skills and training that will provide employment and transport links to employment hubs. http://ow.ly/wrCe30kIJT1
