The Shema (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) is not only the greatest commandment (Matt. 22:37, Mark 12:30), but also a promise for God's people:

"The LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and all your soul so that you will live."
- Deuteronomy 30:6

"This is America; speak English!" doesn't make much sense if you think about it. English is the language of the oppressors our forefathers escaped. You know, imperial England. Hence the name.

What if the Powhatan people had said, "I will NOT be forced to learn a foreign language to accommodate illegal aliens in my country!"? Maybe they did — I don't know — before our ancestors forced them to (between stealing their land, killing them off, and indoctrinating their kids).

Maybe we should all be speaking Algic. THAT'S American.
Just a little logical perspective for your Friday.

Speed Force effect: cool

Costume: derpy and erroneously not form-fitting (of all superheroes, Flash has the most reason to actually have a form-fitting costume, because physics*)

Hashtag: taken. Seriously, marketing people, you don't know geeks at all, do you?

Verdict: not holding my breath

*On that note, the arrow should be flexing as it flies.

The only building campaigns my church ever had were for other churches and families. Then, as weird as it seemed to us, God led us to buy a building to meet in. Now He has paid for it in full and we haven't even moved in yet.

As it turns out, that reaping & sowing thing is legit.
God's wisdom is way higher than ours.

"Go, therefore — just a few of you who are specially-trained — and count decisions of people you've coached to say a formulaic prayer, telling them that they're off the hook now. And remember, I'm in heaven now, but I've provided some great cookie-cutter resources and evangelism strategies for you to memorize."

If that's not the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), why do we act like it is?

“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me … This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood." (Luke 22:19,20)

"Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." (1 Corinthians 5:7)

Introduction
Well I'm that weird kid who grew up in Germany. l now live in Spring Hill, Tennessee and work as a Transmedia Content Producer at LifeWay in Nashville.  I'm a missionary, husband, dad, abolitionist, and bit of a geek with a hippie streak. I love my Redeemer, my family, the Body of Christ, adventure, music, cool technology, good food, theology, video production, film, and a lots of other random things.

I hate prejudice, ignorance, and demons.

Join me to End Slavery in Tennessee and beyond!

I've always had great experiences here. Staff is friendly, respectful, honest, and informative. I'm always greeted by name and offered coffee or tea when I show up. Tosha and Dr. Nabors are both very nice and considerate and they explain options before doing anything. I used to loathe going to the dentist. Now it's a nice break from work.
