Decided today to make one final new years eve post before 2016 comes to an end. This is a final look back at some of my favorite photos I took this year. Stay safe and have a happy new year!
Take a look back at the automotive races and events I've covered in 2016, the defining moments, a few of my favorite photographs that I captured in 2016.

Thank you, +Bryce Goettel, I had a lot of fun at Rolex. Rented a huge lens for it and I think it really paid off.

These are some photos of mine, taken at Canepa earlier this year, just published today on my blog. All were shot with a Nikon D750 through a Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 lens.

Time for something relaxing. It's no secret that we live in the age of convenience. Instant gratification of information is just a cellphone away. That convenience extends to driving. Want the quickest route to cross the state? There's an app for that; several in fact. But on a trip to California earlier this year, my wife and I decided to take the long way, traveling the less direct route from San Francisco to Los Angeles via the beautiful California coast. In this post, I document that road trip in a relaxing video.
On a trip to California earlier this year, we took the long way down the coast, with a road trip down California1. I documented that drive, here in a video.

It was truly an amazing, gorgeous drive! I want to drive on that road again!

This past Saturday, I traveled to Orlando, Florida to see the new RAUH-Welt Porsche, named Kei Kishi. Based on a 993 Carrera 4, Akira Nakai built this car in just three day. It was joined by a number of other custom vehicles, from a relatively stock-looking NA1 NSX to a slammed 964, Z32 and Z31 300ZXs, a classic Toyota Soarer, and more. Check it out.
Like many who follow Japanese car culture and car culture in general, I’ve been reading about the custom Porsche builds of Rauh Welt Begriff for a few years. I even...

These are some recent photos of mine, which were taken at Canepa back in June and were just published on my blog today. All were shot with a Nikon D750 through a Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 lens. Canepa is a restoration garage and seller of classic and collector cars. The trip there was part of a road trip my wife and I took down the Pacific Coast Highway. And with how long of a drive it would be from the Bay Area to Los Angeles (9+ hours), we only had about an hour to look around and take photos. These are the 40 best shots from that visit.
A very quick trip to classic collector car seller, Canepa. From the first photograph to the last, this whole article was shot in just a one hour visit.

Part of a series of articles I've been publishing lately, from my trip earlier this year to California. I recently shared a video of the drive down the California coast. Today, I'm sharing the photos that I captured at a very quick stop off at Canepa. The time from the first photo to the last only spans about one hour, but I was able to capture quite a lot in short time. Here are 40 of the best shots from that visit.

A crowd of Mazda and Miata enthusiasts traveled to Daytona, Florida this past Saturday, for the unique opportunity to sign the millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata produced. This was part of what Mazda calls “a worldwide appreciation tour” which was taking place “to thank fans and owners for their loyalty toward making the MX-5 the best-selling roadster of all time, as well as the torchbearer of pure driving joy.” Being a fan and owner myself, I decided to go to this appearance and document my experiences.

The car I reserved was unavailable. I was given an upgrade from a coupe to a convertible "at no additional cost" and then charged $200 more. The word "hold" was used, making me think I'd get some of that extra cost back. But when I asked about that, the rental agent laughed and said something like "that would be nice." After finding the car in the spot number which I was given by the agent, I drove to the security gate only to be told to turn around and go find another car; this time from a license plate, because they'd given me the wrong spot. So, one star off for overcharging me, one star off for rudely laughing at me and not giving a good explanation, and one star off for giving me the wrong car. The best I can say is that the car was fun.
