It'll probably still take some time for me to get used to using format-patch instead of diff now. Also maybe worth noting that while we're now using git, Jouk is still actually using SVN (with the GitHub SVN bridge) since git still doesn't work on VMS, so he'd probably still appreciate SVN/patch compatible patches, although that's really never going to be a big issue.

When I updated some of our docs for using git, I did a very brief and minimal update since it was in a hurry. You might want to actually go back and spruce up those articles to include your preference for using format-patch to generate patches for submission to Trac.
One of the lesser, but still appreciable, benefits of switching to Git is that now we can properly record the author of the commit (e.g. the author of a patch), in addition to the (less important) person who committed it (e.g...

Congrats on launching the first self-hosted blogging software that doesn't support shared hosting! Also apparently the first blogging software that doesn't include the post title in the page title.

I also like that so much work has gone into the "auto installers" with various hosts since it's a huge pain in the neck and hours of work to actually get Ghost up and running on a VPS or Dedicated box if you don't know what you're doing with Node.js.

I think I'll stick with WordPress.

Have you looked through their forums yet? I've already seen over 10 threads related to backers failing to get Ghost running on their shared hosting. John mentioned it would be built on Node.js when he launched the Kickstarter, but never actually explained what that meant, leaving hundreds of backers disappointed in the end.

Personally, I think it was a huge mistake. The whole point of Ghost was sticking back to a focus on simple blogging, and if there's anywhere people are going to host a simple personal blog, it's on the cheapest hosting out there: shared hosting. We both already see that with WordPress even though you could have that running on a VPS or Dedicated server, and even though it's now used more as a CMS for small and large businesses.

I posted about this a while back in fact:

Certainly not a bad year at all, thanks everyone.
2014 hasn't been the most exciting year for wxWidgets -- among the recent years this honour certainly belongs to 2013, which finally saw the release of the long, long awaited 3.0 release. However quite a few things still happ...

Second and, hopefully, last release candidate of wxWidgets 3.0 has been released. We are tentatively planning on releasing the final 3.0.0 version around November 10th, so be sure to get in as much testing on this release as you can before then.
October 28, 2013 -- The wxWidgets team is pleased to announce the second release candidate release of wxWidgets 3.0. wxWidgets 3.0-RC2 is available at https://sourceforge.net/downloads/wxwindows/3.0.0-rc2/ and at our FTP mirror at ftp://ftp.wxwidgets.org/pub/3.0.0-rc2/ ...
