In 1979, at a conference in Sydney, Australia, Dennis Ritchie presented a paper on the evolution of the Unix operating system. In his conclusion, he wrote: "One of the comforting things about old memories is their tendency to take on a rosy glow. The programming environment provided by the early versions of Unix seems, when described here, to be extremely harsh and primitive........Nevertheless, it did not seem so at the time; the memory fixes on what was good and what lasted, and on the joy of helping to create the improvements that made life better. In ten years, I hope we can look back with the same mixed impression of progress combined with continuity."

Here's to the joy of helping and a life well lived.

Really smart Google+ trick from note-taking app Evernote -- add your "Send to Evernote" email address to a circle, and sharing to that circle saves the Google+ update to your Evernote account.

I'm guessing we'll see a lot of other apps taking advantage of this smart idea.

Very knowledgeable staff. I have been an AT&T customer for well over 10 years, but the T Mobile plans, and particularly the international roaming service plans, are far more flexible. After two weeks, I still haven't experienced any stopped calls or data "black holes." Highly recommend this store and the staff. Ask for Chris. Top notch associate.

Good service and reliable quality, but the WORST wifi ALWAYS. They really need to fix their Internet connection.

I've been taking my Caddy to Treece's for about 8 years. He's excellent. Honest and a good sense of humor. If you're looking for an auto dealer repair shop, go somewhere else. If you're looking for a professional who can troubleshoot a squeak and will treat your investment with the same attention he gives his own vehicles, take it here. He specializes in Cadillacs.

The food and the price are decent but the service is incompetent. Somehow my order was "misplaced."
