Take a few minutes and watch this great presentation by Bryan Stevenson. I alluded to this talk last week when Google announced our $1M donation to his organization Equal Justice Initiative and this is the amazingly inspirational presentation that went along with that announcement.

I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the most inspirational experiences I've had while working at Google. Stevenson's message is simply, easy to understand, and powerful. Take a watch.

PS
At the shows end you can see me in a green polo in the front row :-)

* What does penguin taste like?
* Turpuffin, why hasn't anyone thought of that?

Sometimes these moments of genius come to me pre lunch out of the blue.

PS
Less you think I'm crazy. A Turpuffin would be a puffin in a penguin in a turkey.... just to clarify.

Lots of good videos out there on this week's gravitational waves discovery but so far I like these two the best from the PBS Digital Studios YouTube channel...

Random Friday read. Pretty interesting exploration of an issue all to familiar to those living and working in Silicon Valley.

After a measured recovery, today marks the first full week of commuting by bike post shoulder surgery. There was a mist of rain earlier in the week, some windy weather, meeting fam obligation, and the coldest morning ride of the season (38 degrees).

All that to get to this morning when I was rewarded with a glowing clear sunrise. I'm lucky to have had good PT and trainer, I'm lucky that the surgery went well, I'm lucky to have been patient through it all. Yep. Feels good.

<technically I gotta ride home this afternoon/evening but I'm gonna go ahead and tempt fate and declare victory now... also more convenient for my blog-tweeting>

I'm pretty impressed with this app to manage kid screen time. It is an annual cost but the polish and functionality are exactly what I'm looking for. There are some missing obvious features but there seems a promise to improve those areas.

And even though they charge they have the best clarification statement I've seen for a family app... "Our plans are per family, not per child. We got your procreation covered!"

Not a silver bullet on keeping screentime in check but a good start I'm willing to pay for.
