As a sports attorney, Tenisha specialized in contracts and endorsement deals, but also recognized the need to help young college athletes figure out life after football. When her husband, former linebacker for the Carolina Panthers, shared with her that he always wanted to be a business owner, she leveraged her experience to help determine what type of business would work for them, their lifestyle, and their values. Jay Z is launching a new venture capital fund according to a news report from Axios. Reportedly, Jay Z (Shawn Carter), will partner with the venture capital firm Sherpa Capital, which has invested in companies like Uber, Airbnb, and Slack. He also will partner with Jay Brown, a longtime business partner and president of Roc Nation. The fund is expected to focus on seed-stage funding of tech startups, which is similar to what the duo have been supporting for about five years as angel investors.

Amazon is trying to make up for lost time. In the past two years, the company has opened five fulfillment centers in Joliet, Romeoville and downstate Edwardsville, and announced four more under construction: two in Aurora, one in Waukegan and another in Monee, 35 miles south of Chicago. Once they're complete later this year, Amazon says, the sites will employ 7,000 full-timers. #EconomicDevelopment

While she was pregnant with Daliyah, her mother would read books to her other young children on a daily basis. When Daliyah was an infant, she would hear her older brother reading chapters of books out loud in their Gainesville, Ga., home. And by the time she was about 18 months old, she was recognizing the words in the books her mother read her.

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced the investigation's findings on Friday, saying the DOJ had concluded there was ample evidence the Chicago Police Department "engages in a pattern or practice of the use of excessive force," in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

The final chapter of the Obama economy drew that much closer to its end on Friday, with the final jobs report of the 44th president's time in office. That report showed the 75th straight month of job growth, with employers adding 156,000 jobs.
