My lentil soup is a rich and savory way to treat your family to a warm, delicious meal packed with protein-rich lentils and tons of veggies—especially during these cold winter days we've been having. Soup anyone?

http://brucebradley.com/recipes/lentil-soup/
Winter is still going strong up here in Minnesota with temperatures dropping below zero (again) for several days during the coming week. Yikes! In my book when the weather is cold outside there’s nothing better than coming home to a rich, delicious bowl of soup. Yes, I love soup for lots of reasons, but I believe my lentil …

Is more cold weather coming your way? Then try my Hearty Homemade Vegetable Soup! It's oh so delicious and filled with veggies of all different kinds. And it's so naturally sweet (not a drop of sugar mind you), your kids will ask for seconds!

http://brucebradley.com/recipes/recipe-hearty-homemade-vegetable-soup/
So if you haven’t realized it yet, I’m a HUGE soup fan. I know, I’ll try to branch out to some different types of recipes soon, but really … homemade soup is an amazing choice for several reasons: You can make a big batch of soup over the weekend, serve it up for a couple meals, …

Vegetable broth is a delicious, economical way to add flavor to your recipes. But if you've read my piece on Swanson Vegetable Broth (http://brucebradley.com/f…/kick-can-swanson-vegetable-broth/), you know that all broths are not created equal. In fact, although there are some good vegetable broths that use real ingredients on the market, I usually opt to making my own, homemade broth.

Looking for a vegetable broth recipe to try out? Here you go!

http://brucebradley.com/recipes/recipe-homemade-vegetable-broth/
For many of us homemade vegetable broth may seem like a luxury. But if you’ve read my article on vegetable broths that are merely water flavored with lots of salt and highly processed ingredients, you may think twice about picking up one of the popular, national brands. While there are some pretty good real vegetable broth options out …

Looking for a hearty, winter recipe that's a hit for a fun, family meal or game day entertaining? Then look no further. My "You Won't Even Miss the Meat" Vegetarian Chili with roasted peppers and beans is a hands down winner and will become your favorite, go-to chili recipe. And probably what I love the best about it is ... it tastes better the next day and it freezes well! So go ahead, make up a big batch for the Super Bowl now and freeze some for later. Enjoy!

Whether you’re having some friends over to watch a game or feeding your family, I absolutely love homemade chili! It beats the canned stuff for so many reasons—not the least of which is, it just TASTES BETTER! Also, since you control the ingredients, a great chili recipe is a super way to sneak some vegetables by your …

Looking to make a big batch of biscuits to go with some soup this weekend? My Creamy Dreamy Whole Wheat Biscuits use 100% whole wheat flour, all real ingredients, and are soft, fluffy, and delicious!

http://brucebradley.com/recipes/creamy-dreamy-whole-grain-biscuits/
If you’ve taken a closer look at what’s in most biscuits these days you might just assume they’re completely off-limits. Yes, occasionally I’ll indulge in a real, homemade biscuit, but even most of those have ingredients in them that I don’t feel great about. So I’ve been on the hunt for how to make a better, healthier …

Interested in a red velvet cake that doesn't use artificial colors and lots of highly processed ingredients? Then try my Berry Red Velvet Cake recipe. It uses raspberries and cocoa to give this dessert a wonderfully delicious, fresh taste!

http://brucebradley.com/recipes/recipe-berry-red-velvet-cake/
The red velvet flavor trend is so hot that it’s literally on fire these days. But if you read my last post, you might want to think twice before indulging in a red velvet treat. So that got me thinking … would it be possible to create a red velvet cake that uses real ingredients? …

Interesting read on the First Lady's perspective on the impact of special interest groups. Truly sad that she and the President haven't been able to accomplish more. It's hard for me to believe healthy food isn't worthy of being a higher priority, but it also speaks to the incredible power and deep pockets of the food lobby!

With well-funded opponents like Big Food and the School Nutrition Association working furiously to roll back school nutrition standards and prevent further healthy changes to our food system, complacency would take us right back to where we started....

Learn why new red velvet flavored foods are ringing up lots of sales and profits for Big Food and why this flavor trend may be one you should avoid!
Red Velvet: The Latest Fashion Trend in Food http://brucebradley.com/food/red-velvet-latest-fashion-food/
I discovered red velvet cake many years ago when I lived in the South. As a displaced yankee living in North Carolina I looked on with horror when it was served and couldn’t help but ask, “what makes this cake so red?” … only to be further stunned by the nonchalant reply, “a bottle of red food coloring.” Even …

So many delicious foods begin with a flavorful broth. But are all broths created equal? Not really, and this is especially true in the world of vegetable broths.

Swanson, a brand owned by the Campbell Soup Company, is the market leader when in comes to all different kinds of soup broths including vegetable. But if you haven’t looked at their ingredient label in a while, you might be surprised with what you find. Learn more in my latest post in the "Kick the Can" series:
