The Tesla Motors Supercharger on I-84 at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino near Pendleton is the closest supercharger to us, approximately 125 miles away. With our 80 amp Tesla destination charger is an easy trip to visit Joseph Oregon and Wallowa Lake. So glad that Select Registry and Tesla Motors made it possible!

Time to ship our oriental rugs to Spokane for cleaning and preservation. The folks at RugSpa do a wonderful job of taking care of our floor coverings. A little secret? A special Teflon treatment so the rug fibers don't absorb that accidentally spilled glass of wine or cup of coffee.

Madigan doesn't mind too much sharing her fountain with the local wildlife. One of these days we might think about a critter cam

The cat in the photo, by the way, is Madigan.  She does resemble a bobcat but a tad smaller (and bobcat attitude at times!).

A few shots early morning here in Joseph Oregon. The town is festive for the 4th of July and the summer season. We just love the bronzes on Main Street.

Our first official day of needing the air conditioner here in Northeastern Oregon.  Temperature is approaching 90 according to the forecast.  Just means that Wallowa Lake will warm up even sooner for swimming!   #wallowalake   #easternoregon   #oregon

Guests arriving today by tandem bicycle from Halfway, Oregon.  They're taking the center section of the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway.  Her question by phone yesterday, "Where's the summit?"  I sent her to Ride Oregon Ride to see the route profile. It's going to be a cool, wet one but there will be plenty of sunny breaks and scenery along the way.
This is one of the premier bike rides in the state in terms of both scenery and challenge. After a 10-mile downhill warmup coming out of the charming town of Halfway, a left turn begins a gradual 18-mile climb that only gets serious in the last…

Our springtime southern perennial garden is on the verge of an iris bloom invasion. The peonies are making their post Memorial Day showing. The nice thing about being here in Joseph Oregon is that our lower elevation guests can experience Spring all over again.

Iwetemlykin State Heritage Site is a short walk from our bed and breakfast. Beautiful in any season including late winter. Marr Pond is still frozen over.

Tis the season for the bucks to hang around the house, day or night. This fellow's controlling weeds in the north yard. I don't think he's done battle with our bronze deer (yet).

This weekend is the 18th annual Bronze Blues & Brews Festival.  A tribute to Etta James is planned.  And, we have last minute availability in the Mirror Lake Suite for some lucky couple.  Being located only one block from the festivities is a big plus.

Beginnings of a lazy summer afternoon on the east-facing front porch. It's our extended living room this time of year. Better leave before I decide to snooze on one of the gliders. . .

We're often asked about the beautiful hand-made coffee mugs and wine coolers we use at the bed & breakfast and sell in our gift shop.  These Deneen Pottery mugs are made in Minnesota by a 1st/2nd generation family-run small business.  Here's the story behind the mugs as it appeared in their local paper, the Start Tribune.   #bedandbreakfast   #pottery
“Making pottery is soulful, joyful,” said founder Peter Deneen as he walked through rooms filled with racks of custom coffee mugs. “It’s creating something you can be proud of.” It’s also proving to be pretty successful.

We had a magical weekend in Joseph, and the Bronze Antler played a huge part in it! Heather and Bill are such warm and welcoming guests, we felt at home immediately. Our room was cozy and wonderfully decorated, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious... I have nothing but great things to say. We will certainly be back again!

We got to stay at the Bronze Antler for 2 wonderful nights! Heather and Bill are warm and attentive host! We were impressed by Heather's knowledge of the surrounding towns (even in WA!), Hell's Canyon and etc. and if she didn't know something, which was rare, she would go and look it up right then! There are 4 rooms to choose from: 2 are smaller, one is a really nice size but the Master Suite, which has it's own private entrance is the ultimate! All rooms have their own personal spacious bathrooms. The Ferguson room is the only one that does not have a view of the mnts. There is no tv but this gives everyone a chance to sit and be social if they are incline, which most were during our visit and we got to meet some of the nicest couples during our stay! Heather tries to accommodate everyone's schedule and diets for breakfast, which is so very sweet! We enjoyed our breakfast each morning before we headed out to explore! We can't wait to come back!

We feel so at home and cared for at the Bronze Antler. This was the second of many stays here. In addition to marvelous food (and special requests being warmly acknowledged) Heather and Bill feel like family. It's not often that one feels so welcome. The rooms are lovely and immaculate (thank you Gloria!) We'll be back next year!
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Thanks for your return visit, Holly. It was fun doing a little online shopping with you in the evening at the dining room table. And Gloria takes great pride in maintaining our guestrooms and private baths plus all the common spaces too. We appreciate your acknowledging her efforts!

We had an amazing time at the Bronze Antler for our 5 year anniversary last weekend. The house itself is beautiful, and so are the gardens. Very peaceful! We stayed in the Mirror Lake Suite - no detail has been overlooked! The bed is amazing, and the bathroom is incredible, just take my word for it. You won't want to get out of the shower or the tub! Heather and Bill were fantastic hosts - very accommodating, friendly, helpful, and humorous, too! The breakfasts were so fresh and delicious. We had the best company at the time we were traveling, and we fell in love with Joseph and the Bronze Antler. We cannot wait to return.

Thank you for preparing a review of your stay, Leanna. The Mirror Lake Suite is very popular for couples celebrating special occasions. The "water park" (aka the Mirror Lake Suite's spa-style bathroom) is a favorite--especially in winter when the steam shower, jetted tub, radiant floor heat and fireplace are better appreciated. Hope to see you again soon!

I surprised my husband with a weekend away for our anniversary. We had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Heather and Bill were in constant contact, willing to answer any questions that I might have. We didn't have to worry about anything. We stayed in the mirror lake suite, which was amazing. If you're looking for a place to stay in Wallowa County this is it! Between the breathtaking views of the Wallowa mountains, the pampering you receive from the hosts, Heather and Bill, the morning breakfast and quaint town of Joseph you'll never want to leave. I highly recommend Bronze Antler Bed and Breakfast!

The town of Joseph is spectacularly scenic. The inn is a gracious and comfortable craftsman-era home, beautifully restored. Our bedroom and bath were luxurious. The innkeepers, Bill and Heather, were great. Breakfasts were outstanding. Beyond breakfast, there’s a good lunch to be had at a local coffee shop. But there it ends. By dinner, you need to remind yourself that you didn’t come to Joseph for the food.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Lynda, thank you for taking the time to review both our inn and the town of Joseph, Oregon. Our little community is 74 miles from the nearest interstate in a county of only 7,000 souls. As such, one doesn't find the diversity of dining choices as is found in a large metropolitan area. However, many restaurants incorporate locally grown produce and fruits.

Exactly what a Bed & Breakfast should be! Everything is very tastefully done, easy to navigate and Bill and Heather have thought of everything! If you want personal attention, awesome amenities and a beautiful, comfortable place to stay, this is the place for you! We can't wait to visit again!
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Thank you, Jeffie! Our housekeeper, Gloria, and I spend a lot of time selecting amenities for our guestrooms. We currently supply Tarocco amenities from Baronessa Cali, formulated with Sicilian blood orange extract. Everyone just loves them. Hope to see you again soon!

The The Bronz Antler B&B is the top's of what you can expect! Heather and Bill made a beautiful, comfortable home for everybody who will stay there. Everything was more than we have expected and for sure, we will come back again. The bedroom, bathroom with high tech equipment is spectacular. The bed is very comfortable after a long day of traveling or hiking. Breakfast, coffee, service and decorations are very tasty . The garden is a heaven and we don't have anything negative to say except this is the PERFECT getaway! Thanks a lot , Heather and Bill, for your hospitality in your beautifull B&B.

Thank you for taking the time to review, Daniela. The Mirror Lake Suite does have its fair share of "high tech" but we make a point of explaning how each device works and leave a "cheat sheet" of operating information for each device in case our guest needs a refresher after hours. The picnic table in the north perennial garden is a guest favorite in summer and, yes, we do supply dishes, glassware, napkins, etc., for those guests who need them.
