I've been wanting to try a leuchtturm notebook for a while now, but havent had the chance. Still waiting on a store to have the one i want in stock. Grr. Anyway... I just found the coolest thing in office depot! Its a foray notebook, but the pages are actually white, not that icky yellow color. Light ruling, numbered pages, and a beautiful hardbound cover. It even has this pretty silver faceplate and a ribbon page marker. And best of all its exactly the color I wanted. How cool is that. Im beyond in love with it. I went all paper nerd fangirl in the notebook aisle and I dont even care. :)

Also, it was on sale for $11.

I'm not really sure about the actual paper grade, but I'd say it's fairly high. My Pilot G2 doesn't show through at all. I write in it with fine point crayola markers and it only shows through if I go over a mark too many times, as in filling in block letters. I want to say that it could probably handle a fountain pen, but I'm not sure. I have some calligraphy dip pens. I may do a test with them to see if there's any bleed. +Mike Ester

Love the layout. It's very similar to my weekly two page spread. :)

A little update on this layout suggestion: it works really well for my work life. Any task, event or note relating to a specific day goes in the respective day's quadrant on the left. The rest of the new tasks or notes go on the right. I feel like I have a handle on what's coming up, what to do etc.

I just started experimenting with a new weekly spread. Im dividing my days into projects as you would divide a school day into classes. Each box is a pomodoro of 35 minutes. I dont care as much about doing things in order, only that they actually get done. Im hoping this will help me avoid spending too much time on some things at the expense of others. Im starting in the middle of the week, but thats ok. This way, if I discover I've missed something or need to adjust anything, I only have a few days till I need to make a new page anyway.

And yes, I left Sunday off on purpose. Sundays are my days off. If I do anything work related it will be finishing up something from a previous day.

I'll post an update after I've filled in the next few days. :)

@weekend wife You're right. It really is. I work odd hours and never know when a client will need me for something specific.

In honor of the blood moon, which is gorgeous by the way, here are a few photos my dad took with his telescope when I was in high school. They always manage to make me smile. Maybe they'll do the same for you.

Yes, blue is the color most likely to be seen by people with colorblind deficiencies. That's why facebook is blue. (Really, look it up.) But making the entire chart blue is less than helpful when the person looking at the chart has difficulty seeing different hues of the same color. I can see more variations of blue than any other color and I still only see two colors here. FB blue and Twitter blue. If it weren't for the percentages being written on the bottom, I'd have no idea what it said. Bleh. ‪#‎colorblindproblems‬

You have to grab people on the first page, there are far too many books out there on market for you to sit around with 7 pages of exposition or dialogue or whatever. Grab your reader, make them need to buy that book and read more.

Klout sent me four free bags of these cute little cat treats for my cats to sample. The cats were very excited about the whole thing, begging before I'd even had a chance to open the box they were shipped in. I guess they smelled the treats through the packaging. They loved the waffle shaped trout flavored treats best. The chewy chicken treats were a close second. Strangely, they wanted nothing to do with the crunchy tuna flavored treats. They wouldn't even try them. It could be that the herbs were a little strong and overpowered the fish flavor. If your cats are used to regular tuna treats, you'll probably have better results with one of the other flavors. Monster and Topher recommend the trout treats.
