It is rare that we get to see the before and after pictures of rooms. Thank you, Karolina, for putting these together for us to share.  This plain penthouse kitchen went through a transformation that turned it into something exquisite.  Moving away from the white color of the old kitchen, a custom color was chosen and painted on our standard door, Cumberland Raised. Also, the cabinetry was placed at different elevations and depths, which visually defines the new larger space. Creating multiple-height cabinetry is a great way to add interest to a project.
Some of the walls were removed to give the kitchen extra storage space and a more open look. For instance, in one of the photos you will see next to the refrigerator there was an empty wall, by opening that up Karolina was able to fit a narrow depth cabinet that could easily store cereal and pasta boxes, sodas, jars, canned food, wine, spices, etc.  Another popular idea is to add spice racks or storage on the sides of the oven for easier access to items when cooking.  There is also a custom made slide out shelf under the coffee maker (left of fridge). Now the homeowner doesn’t have to walk to a counter to finish making their morning coffee. It’s all at one convenient spot!

Thank you, Bruce Albert at Alcraft, Inc.  for sending us your wonderful pictures.  This is a great example of a double island and a way to use full overlay cabinetry to achieve that frameless look without actually being frameless.

We changed our featured project again and this round is just as fabulous as the last one.  Check out this kitchen!  Head over to www.brightoncabinetry.com to find out more about us!!

Designer: Ramsey Haddad
Store Location: Cabinet Discounters – Chantilly, VA

This L shaped kitchen with a matching island in the center has ample storage space. The doors and drawer fronts are shown in the Thompson style. The cabinetry is made from a Cherry specie, which seems to be a popular choice at Brighton lately, and is stained with our standard Russet finish. This gives the wood that slightly darker shade which enhances the grain. The stainless steel accessories draw the eye to see the dark and light contrasting tones of the cabinetry and counter tops.
