Hey, so some people have identified issues with the interview I posted about Mark Diaz Truman's Cartel. I have updated the post with the following disclaimer, and will be investigating further.
Note: Mexican gamers have messaged me to say that this game is offensive and glorifies murder and the drug trade. I'm following up on it and apologize for not researching better - I'm sorry. The interview is staying up for now, but with this disclaimer.

- I don't think that's the question, actually! But I can see how it seems that way.
If you do decide to do a discussion thread and feel comfortable doing so, please tag me in? I have meta thoughts.48w - I wasn’t trying to reduce anyone’s arguments so hopefully I haven’t offended anyone or made Brie stress out further! Sorry if I’ve done either :)48w
- There's a whole lot of anger here that Brie has simply added a disclaimer that some folks find this game unpalatble. I find that kind of awful, frankly. Is Brie not allowed to do that? Who says so? why?48w
- If any of my comments were in any way interpreted as angry toward Brie or the disclaimer, I sincerely apologize. I thought everyone in the thread was actually pretty civil and I didn’t pick up on any anger.48w
- Hey all:
Thank you all for respecting me and allowing me some ease. Today has involved a lot of triggers for my anxiety, and when I also had to work this afternoon and evening, I got overwhelmed. Games are like, my third job right now? So all of my work for them is squeezed in-between. Crisis like this leads to panic attacks, and I'm just grateful for the time to breathe.
If anyone wants to discuss the philosophical ideas around content in games and whether people should object to it, please consider a new thread. I'm going to give my brief thoughts that I'm probably not going to debate? I have thought about this a fair bit:
People can be offended by content in games and game concepts as a whole, and they should not have to detail those thoughts extensively to be heard and respected. There is nothing shameful about being offended (literally, upset because something disregards you or people like you) and nothing wrong about it I don't think people should have to read content that is wrapped in concepts and dressing that cause them offense or that emotionally harm them. We wouldn't ask someone to walk barefoot across a dark room with a sign warning "there may be broken glass on the floor," just to let them express that they are hurt by people breaking vases because the glass shards hit them.
I also think if a creator designs something and someone objects it's fine if they make it anyway, but that doesn't mean people like me won't recognize the objection and treat it as valid. The disclaimer is recognition of an objection to content on my blog, and right now, that's all it is.48w - 48w
