I'm participating in Extra Life again this year, 24 hours of gaming to help children in need.

PLEASE DONATE! Look below for the link to the donation page, and feel free to RSVP to this event for updates as things progress toward the event weekend. Even if you can only spare $5, it certainly adds up... if everyone in my initial invite list donated that much, my goal would be surpassed by over 50%. All donations are tax deductible, at least for those of you in the US, and all proceeds in my case go to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

If you're not comfortable donating online, or can't for some other reason, cash donations are welcome if I'm likely to see you in person sometime this year. In that case, though, keep in mind that I can't give you a receipt for tax purposes.

If you'd like to help me out by spreading the word, feel free to share the link to this event page (that's one reason why it's public) or go even further and invite your friends directly.

Thanks in advance for your support!

More cash donations have come in, putting me at 1/3 of my goal ($332)! Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far.

That could have been better... lovely Twitch stability issues about a half hour in.

Hi all! I started streaming with the Extra Life event last October, and plan to do it again this year. In the meantime, I'm streaming a couple of times per week, Mondays at 7pm EST/EDT (the one scheduled time) and usually at least one night later in the week as well.

As for what I play, it's a mix of PC and PS3 games. Occasionally I'll do streams that are a mix of 2-3 roguelike/roguelite games, but aside from that it could be anything. I'm currently in the middle of playthroughs of Dragon Age 2, Divinity: Original Sin, and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.

Wrecking an economy to make a profit. Hmm... sounds familiar.

This reminds me of a certain Tom Selleck movie...
We’d heard DARPA was developing a smart bullet a while back, and it seems like they’ve finally figured out how to make a self-guided gun that can track you down anywhere. Yay?

A competitive event being shown on a channel that specializes in competitive events? OMG END OF THE WORLD!!!

SMH...
ESPN 2 is a twisting nether of weirdness. At any given moment, anything—or perhaps everything— could be happening on this station...

Who else is checking out the Heroes of the Storm beta, and what do you think of it? I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy a click-to-move MOBA, but this one is drawing me in.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the lack of map predictability. I can think of a couple of good reasons for it at the moment, though, and can only hope that they make things more predictable closer to or soon after the official release date.

I'm loving this game so far. The artwork is every bit as beautiful as the trailer suggests.

I've been using Alpine/Pine nearly the entire time that they've existed, but directly on the server rather than as an IMAP/POP client. These days, I also use Thunderbird and K-9 Mail (Android) as IMAP clients, which co-exist quite well since switching to Maildir.

Between the time that I moved into my own apartment and the upgrade to cable internet, I actually had dialup with a static IP. On at least one occasion, I'd be in the middle of a conversation on IRC, the call would drop, the Linux machine I had would reconnect, and the connection would keep going as if it was just a moment of lag.
