Parsley said the surgery he needed was not safe in Guatemala, with too many risks of more infection with very little bone left to work with on his left leg. So, with contributions from Parsley and others, Sandoval flew to Houston where doctors donated their time for the operation.

AAHKS 25th Annual Meeting is taking place this week and more than 1,300 clinicians are attending it in Dallas, Texas, USA this week. The Annual Meeting of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons addresses a broad array of scientific topics such as implant design, outcomes, surgical techniques and complications of primary and revision total joint arthroplasty (TJA) for hip and knee surgeons.
