Good news in this post from +David Scheltema. Our long international nightmare of BeagleBone shortages is soon to be over!
The challenge of finding a BeagleBone Black board is likely a concern of the past.

This looks like fun!

http://www.risf.net/robot-block-party/

The Robot Block Party on April 5 kicks off Rhode Island's celebration of National Robotics Week. See demonstrations and displays of robotics that work in the ocean, in space, in factories and in homes, and meet the innovators who are using robots to teach, lead and explore.

Try out the PR2, Baxter, and Beam Robot from Brown University. See the Autonomous Kayak and Autonomous Surface Vehicles from University of Rhode Island. Meet a telepresence robot built by students at Roger Williams University. See industrial robots from Yushin America and Nordson EFD. Check out the educational robotics from Modern Device, Fluxama, RI Computer Museum and FabNewport. Learn about FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST Robotics, and FIRST LEGO League competitions. Watch robot parade floats and other robot creatures built by Rhode Island's elementary, middle, high school and university students.

A partnership between Rhode Island School of the Future/FIRST LEGO League Rhode Island and the Humanity Based Robotics Initiative at Brown University, this event brings students, academics and industry professionals together to celebrate innovation, invention and technology in Rhode Island.

The Robot Block Party is sponsored by National Grid, SAIC, Textron, IEEE, igus, inc., Yushin America, SERVI-SEEED, Amica Insurance, the Tech Collective and the Slater Technology Fund.

+Omar Soubra has posted his hands-on impressions of a Project Tango phone from +Google ATAP. Hope this product becomes a reality. I want one of these!
How does the new room-mapping phone stack up against industrial scanners? We get our hands on one to find out.
