This is interesting to me. It is also real and not Pollyanna-ish. It's refreshing. I will admit, my faith wavers, and fades in and out based on what I am seeing as it unfolds, so I can see both sides. At the same time, many of us get into trouble trying to convert the unconvertable (both Atheists and Believers). The mistake on both sides may be the same. I think Faith or the lack thereof cannot be imposed externally. Perhaps that gives everyone some room to honor their experiences and also be at peace with what they discover, experience, and believe. There are plenty of examples of people who are very intelligent atheists becoming more spiritual; and the opposite is also true, so perhaps we need to honor our own experiences, and not force them on others. Just some thoughts. Thank you for this post; it reminds me that today most 'wars' are ideological. Still, there are real consequences to this on the ground in our social, economic and emotional lives, as well, here at home.

The edge of the Orion Nebula.
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured this "true color" mosaic of a small portion of the Orion Nebula, taken the Wide Field and Planetary Camera in wide field mode. The image shows a wealth of detail never seen before in the nebula. Newly discovered features include elongated objects oriented on the brightest stars in this region.

Introduction
I don’t come from a large family. I come from a modest, yet loving background. My parents gave me all the inner tools I would need to succeed. They certainly explained the values of loyalty, friendship and respect to me at a young age. As I became more social, I found myself gravitating towards people with that same vibe.

My friends ARE my family. I have the greatest group of people surrounding me…and I keep acquiring more and more. Good people who appreciate honesty, sincerity and truly want to better this world through positivity. I am them. When I speak, I speak for them. When I write, I represent, not only myself, but my family and friends. Ok…getting a bit too ‘rah-rah.’ My bad. My point is that I’m on a quest to show people that a positive, accepting, optimistic person can truly succeed in the industry. We aren’t going to get anywhere if we keep arguing and taking shots at one another.

Now, people close to me will be the first to tell you that I can get very, um, “passionate?” about issues. It is my burden to keep that in check and make sure that I can get through to someone, especially if they disagree with me. I want us to have constructive conversations. Figure out our common ground, have some decent respect for one another and try to come to a positive solution.

I’m confident, driven, educated and people agree with the fact that I can do this, so I can. It’s that simple. This is my destiny….and I never thought I’d have the courage to say that.
