Watching game 5 and drinking a Reactor from Tapistry Brewing.

This American IPA is dry-hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Chinook hops and comes in at 7.3% ABV and 78 IBUs. A solid IPA, I'm glad they canned this one for distribution.

Cheers and Let's go Red Wings!

Having an El Calypso Sauvin from Short's Brewing Company at the source.

This IPA is golden in color and has notable citrus, pear and guava notes, with a lingering dry, bitterness. 5.5% ABV on this one, I'd order it again.

Cheers!

I'm presently going with a Diabolical IPA from North Peak Brewing Company.

This one comes in at 6.66% ABV and 66.6 IBUs and if you ask me, it's devilishly tasty!!

Cheers!

+Benjamin Nedeljkovich The drama of sports is what attracts us all. I think that your sadness over the loss is a testament to how human a sporting event can be. To feel that kind of emotion speaks volumes as to the connection and affection you feel for your city.

Tonight I'm drinking some Squishy from Starcut Ciders, a subsidiary of Short's Brewing Company.

I guess Joe Short wasn't content just brewing some of the best craft beer around, so he started Starcut Ciders this past fall.

Squishy is a semi-sweet cider made with the addition of Montmorency and Balaton Cherries. It's pinkish in hue, has a sharp sour tartness on the nose and the taste is fantastic. It's a moderately tart, slightly sweet, balanced blend of cider and the two cherries.

I typically do not like ciders, I've had very few that I thought were even mildly enjoyable. I really did like this one though, it is most definitely well thought out and crafted. In fact, it reminds somewhat of B. Nektar Meadery's Zombie Killer.

If the rest of their offerings are anything along the lines of this one, keep an eye out for Starcut Ciders. They are currently only distributing locally in northern Lower Michigan, but they plan to expand to cover the entire state as soon as the can ramp things up.

Time for another pour...cheers!!

I'm drinking a Doomslayer from Greenbush Brewing Company.

An American Brown Ale brewed with maple sap, registering at a respectable 8.5% ABV and 37 IBUs.

Wow, this is flat-out delicious and wonderfully balanced. The maple is spot-on, complimentary and not overwhelming. Now I need to try the BA version!!

Cheers!
