Does God Desire Us To Be Perfect?

My answer is God does not desire us as living believers to be perfect as we are sons of Adam.  Read my post to find out why.

How To Make Football More Watchable

I.  The Problem
As well reported by the WSJ, the average NFL game is around 3 hours in length however it only contains about 11 minutes of ball-in-play action.

II. The Vision
The rules of the game should be modified in order to minimize delays and inactivity.  The focus of these rule changes should be to encourage a steady pace of action while reducing the overall runtime of a game in order that we all may enjoy nearly the same amount of action without wasting our time watching all these stoppages, replays, and commercials.

III. The Solution

1. Don't stop the game clock.  Only stop the game clock for the time between the end of a play and the officials lining the ball and/or moving the chains.  This would also include resuming the game clock after the end of a timeout and at the start of a new quarter, immediately following the lining of the ball.

2. Change the delay of game penalty while increasing the play clock.  Rather than penalizing a team only 5 yards for a delay of game, penalize the team with a loss of down.  The play clock should be increased from 40s to 60s in order to accommodate the increased severity of the penalty, except immediately following a delay of game penalty the game clock shall be reduced to 30s.  Under the rule changes described above, this would limit the maximum time a team could run out to 2.5 minutes.

3. Eliminate instant replay.  The review/challenge system is a huge waste of time that also kills a very important attribute of the game, momentum.

Christ spoke about taking up our cross and following Him, however to the world that cross is despised and looks ugly or even garish, but to the believer that cross looks perfect and beautiful, full of glory and grace. What +Alex Hernandez did for others is exactly what Christ was talking about, he took up his cross by lovingly serving others through sacrificing his own desires and cares in order to show care for another. Acts of service don't have to be lofty or rooted in great hardship, they can be simply holding the door open for someone or helping others with their packages, sometimes it is the smaller acts of kindness that speak the loudest and most profoundly into someone's life. In following with the example +Alex Hernandez has set I will be dedicating 15 min to simply holding the door open the next time I am at the mall and I would encourage all of you to take up your crosses with whatever gifts and talents God has given to you. #LovingActsOfService
Alex Hernandez originally shared to Just Some Thoughts:

Two things happened to me yesterday that reminded me of a few things.

1. I opened the door for a woman and her two young boys allowing them to exit a store before I entered.
2. A grandmother coming out of the grocery store had a 24 pack of water fall out of her cart and was struggling to pick it up in the parking lot and I went over and assisted her.

What I was reminded of is. We're all on this earth together and we should take care of one another whenever we possibly can. The other thing I was reminded of is. We're all examples to one another and we need to live out kindness in order for others to be kind in turn.

I was really impacted when I held the door for the woman and her boys. The woman told me thank you and her boys just looked at me as they walked through, almost in a "what and why would he do that for us". There's many times we're in a store and we judge parents for children that are out of control, but many times we don't know their stories.
I think it's all of our responsibility to raise the children around us, by leading by example and showing them how kindness and love work.

Will we always be successful at it? No
Will we always be perfect and never a jerk? Probably not
We all have moments of weakness and times we say words that hurt and have actions that cause damage......but that doesn't mean we don't stop trying.
I know I'll always need someone to roll me over once in awhile when I'm in trouble.

A great article describing the inconceivable odds of the earth supporting life and the universe being created.

"At what point is it fair to admit that science suggests that we cannot be the result of random forces?" writes Eric Metaxas in WSJ Opinion.
The odds of life existing on another planet grow ever longer. Intelligent design, anyone?

Food was average. Large craft beer selection both draft and bottled. Service was average. Atmosphere met my expectations. In short, come for the beer and fill up on decent food.

Food was excellent, the Farm Fresh Burger was delicious, the sweet potatoe tots were amazing, the fries were great, the onion rings were excellent, the sauces paired with the sides worked well, the nutella shake was delicious. Service was great, prompt, knowledgeable, and accurate. Atmosphere was great, clean simple lines and colors and a great bar. The draft beer selection could be larger but was a nice variety of craft beers. Overall a great value, one of the best burgers I ever had, and I will definitely return.

Food was average, I had the filet which was properly cooked but rather fatty for that cut, the mashed potatoes were above average. Wine by the glass selection was limited and poor. Service was above average and helpful. Atmosphere did not meet my expectation. Overall not worth the upscale charge.

Met my expectations nothing more. Food was average, the General Tso chicken extra spicy it was typical and not spicy enough, the chicken with snow peas was bland. Service was timely. Atmosphere was sub par. I will be trying another Chinese restaurant in the future.
