+Brian Cooley between the modern looking Fit EV and the Fiat 500e, how much these two small short distance commute vehicles will fare in terms of fun to drive and convenience?

I'm thinking the same, the current pentastar 6 is a good motor, though a transverse v6 is going to make even more nose heavy

Cheaper, reduced range Chevy Volt arrives U.S. late 2015 says @automotivenews. And a smaller version for EU. All sound like good moves.

Remember my #1 rule for buying a new tech, fuel efficient car: Do you need a new car in the first place? Earn-back is a long hard road otherwise, longer than you'll live in many cases.

Cheaper batteries and companies willing to allow telecommuting would solve most energy problems.

Tesla should be the model for all companies. Fix the problem for free before any injuries are reported.

Pioneer offers Apple CarPlay stereos, also to some of their units already installed. Big deal for car audio stores. http://ow.ly/vOSVg

If you ever visited the Huntington Hotel on S.F.'s Nob Hill, this will make you sick:

http://ow.ly/vFbTF

Grace International, that bought the hotel, and "design" firm Forrest Perkins that defiled it should be ashamed.

See photo for Before & After. Visit it now and take a trip back to Reno in the early 90s.

It certainly looks garish from the photos.  It reminds me of the Kimpton Hotel chain interiors.

As it seems almost every car ever made is being recalled this year, here's a good tool to bookmark: NHTSA Recall lookup.  http://ow.ly/vBIU2

Oh, yeah, far from alone! I haven't seen this many high level recalls in a long time. A lot of it is proactive due to the headlines, not sure we are seeing that many dangerously defective cars. That will come out in the wash as analysis is done end of year.

Land Rover "Transparent Hood" idea is sort of like that invisibile Mercedes two years ago -- except useful. http://ow.ly/vA68I
