Facebook has some issues they are going to need to address very soon: Facebook Fraud

This proliferates from spam like this. Just makes me laugh but a serious underbelly of the 'social' world revolves around this activity on the paid side and organic side.

Topic: Promote www.website.com with social media :)

Hi there!

I'm emailing you on behalf of http://www.get-fb-likes.com, a new and radical way to attract new customers and generate online buzz for your small business! We're emailing you because we've noticed your company isn't taking the right approach that would allow you to reach your full potential online. If you were to look at the websites of the most successful and prominent leaders in your industry, without a doubt you will see they promote themselves through social media. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube help them attract new customers and pull in new sales. But just signing up for one of these social media platforms isn't enough. Unfortunately, the phrase "build it and they will come" doesn't apply to the online world. So how exactly do you attract new customers to your business online?

Your answer lies in a trade secret we like to call "the secret formula." It involves supplementing your social media account with high quality followers and likes that will by nature promote your business in the online world. And now, with our Superbowl Sale, we would like to exclusively offer your business a 40% discount on the supplementation of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram likes and followers!

Want to verify the integrity and quality of our product? We offer 50 Facebook Fanpage Likes for just $1, so you have the chance to do so. We also use PayPal, so you're credit card and payment method is completely private and safe.

Have any questions? Feel free to visit us at http://www.get-fb-likes.com, or see our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) at http://www.get-fb-likes.com/faq for more details. Or, give me a call at (877) 410-4002

Thousands of businesses are taking part in this newly-coined "Internet Gold Rush." Don't miss out!

Do you think the average Google user can even tell where Ads end and Organic starts?

"I really do think the entire industry needs to be looking outside of Google for traffic more than we do."

Like that. Something we've long said. Ultimatly if you count on Google for the lion's share of your revenues, you are always at risk. I personally have to think that this is also a bit of a compliment. Are the AdWords guys concerned about SEOs taking their rev? Hehe...

I had my Pinterest account compromised late last week and wanted to bring others up to speed with that is going on, in part a theory of mine but I have seen patterns that make this probable. This is what I have noted:

1) hacker identifies large following twitter accounts
2) takes said list of twitter IDs and then brute forces PW's on Pinterest for the same user ID
3) pushes the spam out via your twitter account that is connected
4) takes your email address they found via Pinterest and attempts to hack it as well as they continue down the chain.

My main questions is:

1) What on Pinterests end are they not doing to make it so easy to get into?

What you should do:

1) dont connect to new services with your Twitter or FB accounts, try to create new accounts without connecting them.
2) create unique PWs like this for every site: L*ti0$V!8BfFrW31W6gXpgeF and use a PW storage service
3) Use multiple email addresses for social networks like this that way if they get into that email as well they can have fun seeing your back and forths with your grandma and not your CC details.

I am curious if others are having the same problem or perhaps there was an exploit on Twitters end that I am overlooking that allowed this to happen.

To me the oncoming of social over the years has been one of the biggest disruptions to people building good websites and seeing increased competition in the SERPs.

Its unbelievable to me how many businesses waste the amount of time they do building a 300 person Twitter following, meanwhile their site is 4 pages big and gets 7 daily unique visitors.

I see this behavior all the time with well established companies. They just abandon their website and jump into social media and then after months of tweeting they wonder why they are still not getting any leads.

These guys ran up a 400$ bill to diagnose an issue with my SSD vs just being honest and telling me its going to take a lot of time to hunt down the problem. I would have rather them tell me to buy new hardware(which would be an upgrade at the tune of 400+ for a new SSD over what I have currently) then to pay their hourly rate while they hunt(mind you it took 2 weeks to get my computer back and I had to call then 3x for updates). I am accustomed to that sort of service in the computer repair business. Fix whats fixable within a few hours and replace parts that are too testy. I am now left with a computer that crashes daily and will have to replace the SSD. 900$ later I will be back where I was before the issues started happening. Thanks PC Med Evac.

Just went here for the first time after living in Cary NC for 8+ years. A bit hard to find but this family owned business is the real deal unless you like the 8 $ inconsistent superchain haircut. Great hair cut. Friendly conversation. Will come back.

I work here now (effective 6/19/2013) and rely on the internet. When I negotiated the space rental 3 months ago the co. was owned by Office Suites Plus which is now owned by Regus. Regus claims they are going to overhaul the routers internally to keep internet bandwidth speeds from dipping too low but as of writing this my Download is sitting at 1.3mb (which is terrible Verizon offers fiber in major cities that give you near 100mb down for 50/month as a comprison of 'what is out there') and 4 up. If you work on the Internet this = sitting on your butt while you wait. I dont have time to wait and cant afford my work environment to slow me down. If you need decent Internet speeds you will more than likely get nickled/dimed to pay more with this Office (serve as you go) Model. Will update my review should the Internet speeds improve post Regus purchasing OS+ and or if any other their pricing changes.

Been working with Damien for about 5 years now. Out of the 3 to 4 car shops I have dealt with over the last 15 years these guys take the cake with transparency. Never felt like I was getting the run around on services. They would never have problems showing me broken parts and providing me with insights into the technical ramifications as to what might have been the problem. affordable service provider that gets the job done.

This was the first Vehicle I have ever purchased. Troy was a very easy going salesman and was not trying to push me into anything I didn't want/need. The vehicle did the selling which is how it should be. Will recommend to friends/family.
