I was directed to Scrivener being 50% off today.
Q: Is Scrivener applicable to game design? Have any of you ever used it in design? I keep a lot of my random design notes in text documents on my desktop and on Google drive, but maybe this is a better, more organized way?

Just a note that Scrivener 2 is only on Mac. It's still Scrivener (1.8.something) for the PC.

I finally finished a three player run-through of Noblemen, after hours spread over days. I think I like it, but it has a hitch.
Simply put, I have had an easier time remembering the rules to more complex games. While the iconography began making sense after I got going, there were conditional effects aplenty that routinely sent me back to the rule book.
The real test will be competing against other people willing to go at least a couple games in a row.
How does this compare with other experiences?
(Incidentally, the player I decided would focus on gardens won, by a pretty wide margin.)

Playing a very casual cube and this monstrosity resulted. He was quickly dispatched.

+Brandon Robison, my own cube is 2,200 unique cards, mostly rares. The cube I was playing belongs to a friend who is new and has a much more limited collection. I think there were less than half a dozen rares in the pool we drafted, but damn is it fun!

Perceiving the vastness of space and time, with our confessedly infinitesimal grey matter, can set my lip atremble.
Peering through a giant cosmic magnifying glass, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has spotted a tiny, faint galaxy -- one of the farthest galaxies ever seen. The diminutive object is estimated to be more than 13 billion light-years away.

Il Vecchio is down to $22 right now.
I've watched reviews on it, and they all tend to say it's a good solid game, fun and interesting. They also tend to imply it's nothing new, and the designer's previous game Goa might be better. Overall, if you don't already have a good "pick up & deliver" Euro, a relatively light one, this is a good option to fill that niche (and at a good price).

Another Massdrop bundle, my first, I had been wanting to add a few more cards/dice to my small pool, so I took the bait on this. Currently, it's the same I'd pay over Amazon Prime, but it could get as low as $8.53 after shipping.

On review, I was disappointed it was only RISK they were playing @ :55, not Pandemic as I had first thought. But then I realized: RISK is totally a hipster game. https://t.co/IfjtzhU1vr

[Closed in 2011 due to poor business, sadly.] By far, the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Grand Forks. You'll find Mi Mexico referenced favorably in reviews for other Grand Forks establishments that claim a Mexican menu. Located in the old Hardee's building on the corner of Demers and Washington, you'll find a good variety of dishes in generous helpings at reasonable prices. Also a plus is the colorful and artistic decor. After several visits I found the staff competent and friendly, except for one bad experience where a server didn't communicate well and actually seemed to forget about us, the food arriving much later than that of people seated after us. If you want Mexican food that isn't Midwest-Mex or fast food, it's the best place in town.

Unfortunately, the Saturday night bands and the Tuesday night Cay Jams are now a thing of the past, but they still do Thursday karaoke, if I'm not mistaken. The menu is still an attraction, as well as the dozen or so beers on tap. Patronage ranges between after-work crowd, students, and hippies. Not sure what's going to come of the place after Valley Dairy moves to it's new location out on 47th and Washington.
