It's that time of year again: the 2017 Coffee Spot Calendars are out. As I did last year, I've produced a bonus Lighting Calendar to go with the normal one.

Full details, including how to buy, are over on the Coffee Spot.

Monday's Coffee Spot is C.U.P. in Reading, serving Greeks-style third-wave coffee in a third-wave coffee shop setting. There's coffee from The Roasting Party on espresso & V60, and an excellent range of Pekoe Tea in the cleverest tea pot I've ever seen, plus an interesting range of food and sweet things, including bougatsa.

An exciting new Saturday Supplement! The wonderful Joe Meagher of Flat Caps Coffee has launched a Kickstarter to fund a second Flat Caps in Newcastle. I know, I know: who knew flat caps were so expensive these days?

Read all about it!

It's been London, London, London on the Coffee Spot the past couple of weeks, so for Thursday's Coffee Spot, we're off to Liverpool and the very lovely Filter + Fox on Duke Street. Coffee shop by day, serving Nude Espresso, cocktail bar by night, it's a very classy joint in a lovely spot, with service to match. Oh, and the cake... Such wonderful cake...

After Monday's Coffee Spot, the newly-opened Muni Coffee Company, today's Coffee Spot is a comparative old hand, having been open all of six days when I went to visit it in Fulham Broadway Retail Centre. Pitch.coffee, serving the Redchurch Blend from Allpress, has a lovely U-shaped counter right in the heart of the shopping centre, and is going head-to-head with the chains with (so far) impressive results!

Monday's Coffee Spot is Muni Coffee Company, with its new coffee shop on the Fulham Road (opened on Saturday!). Muni works directly with farmers in the Philippines to bring Filipino speciality coffee to the UK. There's also great breakfast and lunch menus, fusing British and Filipino cuisine.

Another two months have gone by and another Caffeine Magazine is out. For the first time in three years, I've not written the Neighbourhood Watch feature. Find out what I did instead in the new Saturday Supplement.

Thursday's Coffee Spot is Coleman Coffee Roasters, a lovely spot on London's Lower Marsh, tucked away behind Waterloo Station. It's not very big, but it has a lovely, secluded garden at the back.

Coleman Coffee Roasters serves Oaties (think savoury pancakes, but with an oat-based batter) with various sweet and savoury fillings. There are two options on filter through the V60 and one espresso blend which is pulled two different ways, one for milk and one to drink black.

Wednesday is, as I established a long time ago, the new Saturday, so it's time for a new Saturday Short, the wonderful Sottoscala, the Terrone & Co collaboration with Pizza Pilgrims in Kingly Court, Soho.

It's not a huge place, but you can sit in the Kingly Court courtyard if you want. Most important of all, it serves some excellent Terrone espresso.

Monday's Coffee Spot sees me finally complete the task of writing up all the places I visited on my coast-to-coast trip across the USA last year. Today it's Portland Roasting Coffee and its delightful Cupping Room cafe, which shares the building with the roaster. A lovely space, serving some great coffee, it's well worth getting slightly off the beaten track for a visit.
