We got engaged at this inn and have come back so many times since, we've lost track. The atmosphere is so warm and friendly, it feels like coming home each time we return. The breakfast is amazing and generous. The wine hour includes a large variety of delicious dishes, desserts, and a selection of wines, beers, and non alcoholic juices with enough for everyone to have seconds and even thirds. (you'll want to) There are also complimentary fresh fruit, coffee, tea, chocolate, and daily pastries available throughout the day. If you are willing to sacrifice a bit of space, a porch/balcony, and a soaking tub, the 2 loft rooms are a great deal and still have a 26" tv and king bed. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming, and particularly Guy, the proprietor, will make you feel right at home. I cannot recommend this inn enough.

Wonderful inn. Every detail was attended to. The pillows were very soft. The food was very good. The manager was very hospitable and knowledgeable. He gave us a great list of suggestions to fill the first day: Kayak Sea Cave Tour ($50 ea), Botanical Gardens ($14 ea), Heron's Restaurant ($50 for 2), and Cabrillo Lighthouse (free). We stayed in the Lookout room, which overlooks the ocean.

We stayed a little over a week there in mid December 2007 and felt like we were right at home. The staff is so friendly and there at your beck and call. You can hear the ocean at night as well. The breakfast itself is practically worth the price of the room alone! This place works well as a home base for local activities or even to stay at the whole time if your wish is to sit in front of a fire and read a book too. Highly recommended, we will be back for sure.

So amazing. I felt spoiled every day. The staff was sweet and accommodating, the beds were very comfortable, and the food was delicious. I also valued the Arts & Crafts style architecture. One morning I woke up to deer and quail right outside my window.

We recently went on a road trip that included Mendocino. We stayed in the Pelican room at the Brewery Gulch Inn and it was absolutely incredible. The room was nice with plenty of space and a very nice view of the bay. The food was that of a fine dinning establishment and provided you with plenty of choices. Out of all of the places we stayed on our trip, this was by far the nicest and well worth the cost. You will not regret it... not your typical B&B.
