General Discussion  -

Make sure you are participating in the discussion on changes to the reseller relationships at the GWC forum. These changes impose a much higher criterion on membership, and will result in many resellers leaving the program.

If these changes are important to you, then it is important that you participate in the discussion.

Interesting ...
Last month, Rahul Sood, the guy that launched Microsoft’s investment arm Microsoft Ventures, left the company to launch a new stealth gaming startup called Unikrn.

Chromeboxes in Australian fire service a huge success
Another data point for you guys interested in the progress of ChromeOS.
“So happy with the Chromeboxes is the public safety agency that its IT director is now considering buying more to replace existing Windows infrastructure … Host estimated that the agency immediately saved 50 per cent by choosing Chromeboxes over a Windows-based alternative."

Those among you with longish memories will recall the slight hullaballoo which emergency services agency Fire and Rescue NSW caused in November 2012 when it revealed it had dumped plans to deploy new traditional PCs throughout its operations in New South Wales, opting instead for a widespread deployment of 400 units of Google's Chromebox cloud-based desktop platform. What a fantastic experience. I cannot fault the service and quality of this hotel. We stayed there for a week, and the central location of the hotel was perfect for daily expeditions to the surrounding attractions. The staff could not have been more helpful and could not have made us feel more welcome from the concierges, the front desk, and especially the restaurant team.

What a disappointing experience. The food was great. However, the service was poor starting from the maitre d' who seemed genuinely disinterested in his restaurant. After our main course we waited for over 30min for any attention from the staff, so eventually we just paid at the door and left to continue our meal elsewhere. I would have expected the casino to have a much better class of restaurant at the front door to welcome customers.

Excellent experience. Very friendly staff, and really well run. The only 'gotcha' was the queue at the other end for the return trip.
