This whole discussion is really frustrating, mainly because of its pervasiveness. Literally no one but first year philosophy students would even think up this kind of mess. No, your vehicle is not, nor is it ever going to be making ethical decisions. No amount of mental masturbation is going to change that.
We talk about self-driving cars and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) on an regular basis here at HotHardware. At this stage in the game, self-driving cars are in fact a reality and currently roaming streets in and around Silicon Valley. These are, of course, prototype vehicles that still have a human driver behind the wheel just in case

Almost universally, the press is treating Gawker like some sort of wake-up call, like their loss of the lawsuit, just because it was funded by Thiel, means the first ammendment is dead.

Please. They have learned the wrong lesson entirely from this thing. As one commenter said on this article, If Gawker is your journalistic "hill to die on," then journalism truly is a rotting corpse.
Instead of fighting speech with speech, Peter Thiel bought a muzzle. Now that he's created a template, it's likely to happen again.

I'm kind of pissed that Google did this, to be honest. I always had this turned on, and it was a really good way to quickly manage open tabs, vs having to click in to Chrome specifically. Bad form, Google. Bad form.
I hope you weren’t a fan of Chrome’s “merge tabs and apps” option that was introduced back with the launch of Lollipop, because Google fully killed it off today with the update to v51 of Chrome stable.
